Got 2 combo dishes. I had the onion rings with chop suey and pork fried rice. Took forever to get waited on and to get the food. Went and sat down in the willows and don't find any duck sauce or ketchup which I think should come automatically. Chop suey not up to the old standard. The rice was the best part of it.
I always preferred Ghengis (RIP) to Salem Lowe anyway, but the new Salem Lowe is worse than the old one. I'm pulling for them, honestly. I love cheap Chinese food joints, but this place does not do it well at all.
I was so Happy to find that we could still get our very Favorite Chop Suey Sandwich at Salem Lowe at Salem Willows. I bought two, one for my husband and one for myself. They were Awesome as usual. Yes, the price has gone up from about two dollars to Five but what on this Planet hasn't gone up and I could tell right away that it had more chicken in it then before which is Great.

The restaurant still holds a nostalgic appeal, but the new ownership has brought some changes that have affected the taste and quality of the dishes. The tender beef and chicken chop Suey, once staples, are now compromised by altered recipes. However, the combination plate and burgers are still praised for their good food and friendly service. Despite some inconsistencies, customers hold out hope that the new owners will revisit the original recipes to restore the restaurant's former glory.
