“Please read to the end. We need to help Happy! Last night 7/24/21 I went into Happy’s with good intentions looking for German fries and the popular fresh lemonade. When I walked in the owner “Happy” was giving my girlfriend a hard time over getting German fries, so I said hey man be nice to your customers, my girlfriend is basically putting food on your table, but he continued being argumentative and rude and obnoxious stating “Be nice!? I am 80 something years old and I have a ton of money!” Like that’s a good excuse for a poor attitude, especially being in customer service, but guys something happened to this man that made him so angry. Something had to have happened and I want to help Happy. I have been going to his store since I was a kid and I have always loved the food. Happy’s is legendary and it’s been a staple in the Salisbury beach food scene. Guys let’s remember that everyone has a story and we all have issues. Let’s look past this behavior and listen to Happy and treat him with the love and respect that we as humans need and desire. Let’s help him bring his business back to life!! Best of luck Happy!!“

“I’ve been coming here since I was a young girl. We’d go to the beach, grab some beach pizza with my parents & younger Brother. All these years later I still come here now, I bring my boyfriend & it’s still the best beach pizza I remember from all those years ago.“

“If you've read anything about beach pizza, a hyper regional style established in the Hampton Beach area, you will probably go into your first bite with a bit of trepidation. The pies are square, which raises few eyebrows, and the crust is appealingly thin, almost cracker-like. Aesthetically - at least before they are prepped for a reheat in the oven - slices don't look that different from a typical Rhode Island pizza strip, though it has a bit more pale white cheese dotting its top. But the sauce is notoriously sweet, and if you order it with cheese each individual slice will be topped with a thin circle of provolone, which is barely melted in the very low-heat oven they use to warm up orders.

Do not be put off by this description. Order a slice - with or without extra cheese, the choice is yours - open your mind to the possibility that there may be more to pizza than what you've been taught, and take your first bite. Almost instantaneously you will know if you like beach pizza. The crust is soft yet crispy, the sauce oversugared yet left with enough lingering acidity to be something other than typical tomato sauce while still maintaining its tomato sauce status. If you have cheese on your slice, there may be a pit of a pull as you tear your first bite away; this cheese doesn't add flavor as much as texture. Ideally, the sun is beating down on you as you finish off your slice in the parking lot next to the order window in between sessions at the beach. At this point, you will either want another slice or swear off trusting anyone in the Hampton Beach area about food ever again.

Like every significant regional food, beach pizza has two titans forever battling for the hearts and minds. While it can be found at a handful of smaller storefronts along the shore, most people pledge loyalty to either Tripoli or Christy's. Tripoli, which has multiple locations on the beach but first began (and still stands) as a bakery in Lawrence in the early 20th century, is my pick of the two. The products are similar, but Tripoli's sauce sets it apart. It doesn't modestly present itself as a variation on other styles. It proudly states "I am beach pizza, and I am here to be a little too sweet, a little too insubstantial in my crust, a little too addictive."

There's unmistakable nostalgia in this pizza even if, like me, you grew up thousands of miles away. It might be that if you ate Stouffer's French bread pizza as a child, ideally as an afterschool snack before your parents got home from work, this pizza will transport you back to that minute you bit into a half hot out of the toaster oven. It might be that if you went to the beach when you were a kid and climbed out of the water and sand to stumble over to a snack stand, hot and sticky and hungry, this pizza will transport you back to the satisfaction of cheap American calories in simple and familiar packages. Regardless of whether you can pinpoint its source, beach pizza's power lies in its confident vision of its own conception. You might hate it, but beach pizza doesn't care. It will be there for you anyway.“

“I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years. I always get the chicken kebab salad with feta cheese it’s amazing they’re homemade dressing is the best I’ve ever tasted. My wife is passionate about their roast beef sandwiches with barbecue sauce. Incredible get the large it’s worth it. Anna and Nico are a wonderful couple owners and they are excellent cooks. Prices are reasonable. the service is excellent. there’s a few tables inside and some outside picnic tables. Excellent place for casual dining in or for takeout. AR“

Our large steak tip sub was cooked to medium rare perfection and covered with the absolutely best honey bbq sauce with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Generous portion. My mouth is still smiling. “Great Pizza! I was in your shop on Saturday, 29 Oct. This is what I have been searching for. The pizza reminds me of what I used to get in the 1940's and 1950's at pizzerias and barrooms. Thin, with the cheese and tomato spread right up to the edges. Almost foldable but not stiff. The flavor is satisfying and peaceful with a cold drink. The staff was extremely polite and accommodated me with a spaghetti sauce that was not on the menu. Judging from the continuous phone calls and pick-up orders, a lot of people have already discovered you and share my taste . Keep doing the Good pizzas. What a taste! When you've ordered tastey pizza, you know it at the first bite.“

You order it, hit up the Richdale's right across the street which has a booming selection of drinks soft or hard, come back and it's done, it doesn't get much better than this.“

“We just moved to Amesbury, September 6th. We were looking for somewhere good to eat in order from to have delivered. The pizza is delicious,the chicken fingers are Fantastic, We just ordered today mozzerella sticks, steak and cheese sub, a chicken finger sub a small pizza and a hamburger it' was all delicious. The first thing you worry. How is if the food in the area is good because everything is so expensive And you don't want your money to go to waste. This place. You don't have to worry about it, I've ordered 4 times from this place since I've moved here. And it's always been consistently good. (The steak and cheese sub was a bit skimpy but today's economy you can't blame them.)
Edit: If you are not ordering italian subs from Localist With cucumber then you're doing something wrong. This is amazing.

“First time at Flatbread pizza Co. Honestly one of the best pizza's I've ever had. It was a beautiful early autum day and we sat outside to enjoy our sweet onion pizza. Pizza was great, i agree with most people in the reviews and say pricey but worth it. Thought the waitress was standoffish, maybe she was a having a bad day? The Maine IPA was so smooth and delicious. I believed we did tip on the card even tho they attached a 2% kitchen fee, not sure why. Good pizza either way.“

I am pleasantly surprised I haven't seen a recent review about a Pomodori CALZONE.

Im 99% sure a large calzone could feed up to 6 people... And I like to eat. I walked out yesterday with a large chicken parm calzone and I'm telling you next time I will have to weight it. That sucker must have come in at 15lbs minimum.

The cutlets seem to be homemade, the sauce was incredible and it was LOADED with chicken.

I've only ever gotten calzones from Pomodori because of the taste and portion size and all I can say is... Bravo, Pomodori... Bravo.

Joe was fabulous as expected, but the big surprise was his band, who were phenomenal, especially Reese on keys and his backup gutarist Josh, who had some very tasty leads when allowed to show his skills. Also want to give a huge shout-out to those amazing backup singers - 3 talented and lovely ladies with astounding voices and tons of personality. Excellent show, and The Casino Ballroom, as always, is a great place to see acts in a more intimate setting.“

“Love this place. There's always a local debate on which is real "Beach pizza" between Tripoli bakery and Christy's. You can only find Christy's at THE BEACH while Tripoli can be found throughout the city's of Methuen and Lawrence.“

“We call it Beach pizza. But they have a bakery with Italian cookies, cakes, and cannolies. Ok back to the pizza, as you all may not know, here is the low down,... its very thin crust, sauce is super sweet, cheese is Sparingly sprinkled over that. Each slice is 5" x 5". Asking for extra cheese, it's a see threw thinly slice peice of provolone,( as shown) or America cheese. No it's not cheap, buy the frozen heat your Stone with the oven on 400, buy 1/2 lb of nicely cut Provolone from the Market Basket or fav place. Heat pizza for 5 min, add provolone, cook an additional 1 min or until cheese is melted. Or just go get a REAL Pizza...“

“I give this place 10 stars if it let me! My husband and I came in and sat at the bar. Service was immediate! We got chicken taquitos and a burger. All the food was bomb, the service the whole time was attentive and friendly. It’s hard to find good service now a day but this was hospitality.“
