“If you had told me my biggest highlight of flying into town this weekend to shoot exterior scenes for an upcoming horror film wouldn't be the set, but a chicken joint in Saugus, I would’ve called you crazy. But here we are.

I’ve seen the videos online for ages and it always piqued my interest. We might have some hiding down home in South Carolina, but the Saugus crew just made a lifelong fan out of me. Being completely new to the menu, the guy at the counter broke it down for me. Then, my eyes locked onto it: REAPER.

Fun fact about me—pain is the name of my game. I am an absolute sucker for the spiciest things you can possibly throw at me (for context, my current record is the Toe of Satan lollipop at 9 million Scoville units). So naturally, I was ready to dive face-first into the Reaper. But homeboy looked out for me BIG time. He gave me the ultimate insider tip: go with the Extra Hot first for the flavor, then tackle the Reaper.

He was not wrong. This was easily some of the most delicious food I've ever had. I still signed the waivers—one for the store, one for me to keep as a souvenir—and they hooked me up with some Carolina fries to try, which I devoured like candy. For the normal crowd, yeah, it’s got a massive kick. But for me? It was pure perfection.

I don’t think they’ve ever seen someone absolutely champ their way through that without breaking a sweat. I could see the literal shock in their eyes, and honestly, I don't blame them! I’m an outsider just rolling through town, but that large Extra Hot meal was a flawless 10 out of 10. I am so glad I trusted my gut instinct to finally try this place, and even happier that this location was my first introduction to the brand.

Amazing food and an amazing experience, but most importantly, an incredible staff. Huge shoutout to the absolute dream team working the floor: Tico, Olivea, Chad, David, Jessica, Oswaldo, and Betty. You guys made a chaotic travel and film weekend unforgettable. I fly back home tomorrow, but I have more scenes to shoot in the area in a few months. Let's be real: even if I didn't have a movie to film, I’d fly back just to eat here. If you haven't been yet, fix that immediately. “My husband and I Went in at 7 pm at the Saugus facility to order for a cheerleading squad but was totally ignored and not a word from any employee that we will be with you shortly. They looked at us and kept on working. We waited over 5 minutes and walked out and went to raising canes, I tried to call to complain the next day and they don’t even answer their phone. I’m not sure why the patrons should be ignored, I would never give them my money again !“

“Hands down best hot chicken I have ever had.
Rarely I say any place is worth visiting, but this one is.
Caution: if you have high heat tolerance, only go as high as Hot. 🥵 anything hotter is at your own risk.

“Took a few orders to hit its stride but the business requested and followed up on feedback given, so I was willing to give it additional tries, and the latest orders were perfect, so I personally recommend them - as for the price it’s hard to go wrong and the unique sandwiches beat out local alternatives for chicken sandwiches, and have some of the best form of fries you can get. Top tier indulgence.“

“The chicken is always delicious whenever I have a chance to get some. I've probably been visiting this shop occasionally for about 2 years now and the quality has never disappointed. The only issue I've had is that they're maybe too popular so sometimes the wait well past the estimated pickup time. But hey, fresh chicken that's still crispy when I get home.“

“One of the best sub sandwiches you will ever have.
Service is fast. Food is great quality. You get a great value here. The subs are about 50% larger than most other places nearby and it is about a dollar cheaper. There is not much room to eat and the stools are very wobbly. That does not matter much since almost all the customers are grab and go.

“Door Dash delivers to the city (hot, cold, or frozen), which is a dangerous thing to have discovered! The pies are packed with big chunks of very good white meat chicken, so they’re more filling than most. They’re also not too salty. The portions are really solid, too. A pie that says it’s 6 servings fed us exactly 6 servings. They were wonderful when I called about a food allergy, too.“

“Food: I thought this location was not as good as the Allston one. The chicken wasn't as crispy and pieces were smaller, not sure why. Went multiple times too.

Service: was fine for a casual place.

Atmosphere: order at the front and find a seat in the restaurant. It's fine/standard.

Overall: was a bit disappointed with this location. Even though (I believe) the Allston one is the flagship location, I thought the food quality would have been closer.“

Its not worth 6$ service was kinda frantic and relied on a self checkout which I'm never a huge fan of. Atmosphere is nice for a hole in the wall. Would recommend, food is overall good and is worth the price (except the Mac and cheese)“

“Highly recommended place, I ate the chicken sandwich and it was very good.

What I would criticize to improve would be that the potatoes come with less salt, some tables were dirty and the sandwich was overfling with sauce.

The things I loved were the speed of attention and receipt of the food in a few moments.

“We've been a big fan of the amazing food here for a long time. Crispy chicken, excellent flavor options. But the true wow factor is the service. We ordered through Grubhub, and somewhere in the ordering process Grubhub changed our order location to Cambridge. While Grubhub offered absolutely no help in the issue, both the Cambridge and Boylston St locations worked together to transfer the order to the correct location. This ensured we were not double charged and that we still got our food at the time we needed it. We are so grateful, and excited to eat our delicious BBQ chicken!“

“This place is excellent! How lucky am I to work so close to this shipping container. The bread is always so fresh and the sandwiches are scooby doo and shaggy sized large. I really wish they would come up with a rewards or point system for employees at the design center who come here almost daily. It’s for sure burning a hole in my pocket and I know that’s 100% my problem but a free sandwich after say maybe 10 purchased sandwiches would make a lot of sense in my opinion.“
