Istanbul Diner Cafe Reviews
This place is superb. The food was delicious, fresh, tasty, VERY SUBSTANTIAL (one bowl will feed 3!) and a delight. The owner welcomed us with grace and kindness and told us that if it wasn't to our liking, he would make it right. We were gifted Rice Pudding (the cinnamon....oy vey!) and Baklava. Will be back every time I go to Mass General for treatment.
If you are looking for authentic Turkish food north of Boston, look no further than family-run Istanbul Diner Cafe in Saugus (or their original location in Revere)! Pics are from my fourth visit to the newish Saugus branch, a fantastic Adana kebap, with a homemade rice pudding for dessert, on a blustery Saturday. A meal here will transport you to Türkiye for the moment!
Absolutely delicious, and such wonderful service! We love this restaurant!!

Istanbul Diner Cafe is a hidden gem offering delicious Turkish and Mediterranean food. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and inviting with a nice vibe, providing a warm and welcoming experience. The space is super accommodating for both solo diners and big groups.
The food is unbelievable, bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh and authentic. The meats are always cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully—and never dry. Dishes like the iskender kabob plate, Adana plate, lamb burrito, and the massive Istanbul platter are all excellent. The homemade sauces pair perfectly with the meat. Portions are consistently huge and generous, offering great value. For dessert, the baklava and the homemade rice pudding are a must try.
The staff are super friendly, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind, adding to the warm atmosphere. Service is fast. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit and a go-to spot, with many customers planning to return to try more of the menu.
