We've been going since 2008. Always an excellent meal--usually we go for lunch. Fresh ingredients, authentic Peruvian flavors, lovely staff--especially Carlos and Lily. Occasional specials like picarones (sweet potato/squash donut) and festive parties and brunches with distinct menus and live music or a DJ. The menu changes a little bit over the years, with most of the classics remaining. I really miss the Chupe de Camarones and the Papa Rellena! Please bring back those delicious...
I like going to this restaurant. The food is always amazing - the ceviche, bistec a lo pobre, chaufa, parihuela, lomo salteado. The staff is friendly. And the atmosphere is good to have a nice conversation and overall enjoy the food with friends and family.
The food at Machu Picchu was disappointingly mediocre. We had the following:
Octopus appetizer: tough and a bit chewy.
Aguadito: this cilantro soup was the best dish
Aji de Gallina: good portion and decent flavor but was hoping for better.
Chaufa: hardly had any flavor…very disappointing.
Nice atmosphere and very good service but the food has lots of room for improvement.
