This is one of the few restaurants I have visited that everything I have tasted was amazingly good. From appetizers to desert was amazing. If you do go to the Vinyard, make sure and go to Garde East.

fakest lobster roll i’ve ever had. too thick of a bun, thick layer of celery hidden under a thin layer of lobster; intentionally misleading. if you want a lobster roll go anywhere

The restaurant is right on the bay front, quiet and awesome views. The ambiance is amazing. Halibut, steak and haddock were delicious. Kids menu available as well. Great service and drinks as well.Kid-friendliness: Chicken nuggets and pasta available.

This is the second time this summer we have eaten at Garde East. Both times everything wss first-rate. I so enjoued the halibut and bok choy dish that I had it again and recommended it to my friend. The bottle of Vouray was a perfct match. I had asked for my favorite table on the deck. Luckily he weather cooperated. Mina, our waitress from Montenegro was charming and attentive.

Garde East was wonderful! They have a great cocktail program and a huge wine list. We set on one of the two decks with a great view of Vineyard Haven Harbor. After dinner, we moved to the beach level porch and listed to the ocean.

Was charged for the more expensive bottle of wine after we clarified we wanted the less expensive one TWICE. Waitress definitely did it on purpose.

The fish which I ordered was overly salty. When the waiter asked how everything was, I explained to him and asked him to let chef know. No answer came from the chef and the bill came with the full ( overpriced) amount the entree. Not to mention that there was a charge of $25 for a small glass of Rose. When I questioned the ridiculous price, it was lowered to $15.

Visited on a lovely summer evening, sat at the bar as a walk in. Staff was attentive and welcoming. Had the muscles which were excellent. Meg the bartender made me a perfect Manhattan. Will return!

Lovely atmosphere. Bartender "Meg" is a swindler - pulled a switcharoo on the wine ordered and when we called her on it at time of the check. It was clear this was a common practice of hers as she was fully ready with her response. Just sneaky and and made us feel icky and nauseous. I don't recommend you use her as your server if you can avoid it.

The food and service were superb. The beet root gnocchi was the best gnocchi we've ever had. Every dish had thoughtful touches and the views from the dining patio were amazing. We loved our meal.

We had a wonderful evening! This was our second time dining at Garde East and our experience was just as memorable regarding ambience, food and service. We look forward to returning on our next holiday. Many Thanks to Ari our waiter who provided both excellent service and charm to our table.

Our second time did not disappoint! Food was great as always, drink list is extensive and the staff is lovely! We spoke with the general manager as well and she was nothing short of a joy! Highly recommend!

We were so excited to experience more fine dining on Martha's Vineyard after vacationing here for many years and booked Garde East for my birthday dinner. While the restaurant has stunning views, the food was incredibly disappointing and extremely expensive for the quality and presentation. We had a “tomato feta” salad (simple really) and it came out as a teeny-tiny salad with an entire block of feta - it was only enjoyable as a form of comedic relief. We also ordered the fluke crudo - the crudo usually depends on its flavor pairings to awaken the raw fish. It was so expensive and had ZERO flavor and came with four very small slices of fish! I had to request A1 sauce with my $73 steak because it truly lacked flavor. On the menu, the steak is listed with mushrooms - the mushrooms came out cooked, unseasoned, and separate from the plate. Who wants a bowl of unseasoned sautéed mushrooms with their steak? My partner and I are very fond of fine dining and love to spend the money where it counts. The ambience and location of the restaurant has to be what is keeping it alive - because without the beautiful waterfront dining and gorgeous individuals that fill the Vineyard every summer, you would be better off eating fried fish from Nancy's in Oak Bluffs.

Located right in Vineyard Haven. Parking can be tricky. Great views. Attentive staff. Good menu. Portions not big, but food is professionally done. Scallops were great. Good bread while u wait. Prices expensive, but it's on an Island!
