“*Edited 10/24/24: If I could give Smokehouse BBQ more than five stars, I would. RUN to get the pumpkin bread pudding as soon as you can. It's incredible!*
The food at Smokehouse BBQ is so good! This is a regular go-to for me when I want hearty comfort food. The brisket is tender and juicy, the smokehouse stew is warm and filling, and the cornbread is sweet with the perfect texture. Highly recommended!!“

“Always great food, cooked to order, no microwaves! My all time favorite is their flagship sandwich, “The Commonwealth.” Piled high with freshly pulled pork, some pieces bigger than others, some with the delicious bark that defines great smoked pork. I love the optional cranberry habanero sauce on the side. Considering the sandwich has over a pound of pulled pork, plus a side ( I traditionally get fries, my wife likes the creamy Mac and cheese), not a bad deal for under $13 with tax.“

“First time stopping today on route 3 in hingham. Omg!! The pulled pork sandwich was so good !! I had to go back and get 2 pounds to bring home. Nicest people !! Debit cards accepted. The cole slaw was also just as good. Can’t wait to stop in again and try the other items !“

“5 stars! The steaks at LongHorn are always up to par—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The service is amazing, and the bread they serve is always freshly baked with smooth, creamy butter. Every bite leaves you with a smile, and the portions are generous, making sure you leave satisfied. Definitely a go-to spot for a great meal!“

“I've been meaning to write this review for sometime, because Lisa and her staff absolutely deserve their flowers. We have used Tex's BBQ express for our annual staff cookouts for years. When we send out the invitation one of the first questions that are asked is "are we getting food from Tex's?" The staff are so polite, accommodating, and easy to work with. I am excited to use them each year for annual outings, but their food is so delicious and they make me want to host parties of my own with them on the grill. CANNOT recommend highly enough“

“Ordered Steak n Cheese. DELICIOUS!! have ordered from competitors, Stevie's, Simco's Boston House Of Pizza and Mattapan House Pizza who use to have good Steak and Cheese, but they gave changed to a grade of meat that appears to have the texture and appearance of ground beef. ICK!!!! They get no more of my $$$$.Also, Vikos Pizza reminds me of old school Pizza using real cheeses, not watered down tomato sauce (again like those same competitors I mentioned previously) and not lathered with something that tast like Parmesan Cheese.Last, I live the mom and pop setting.Vikos, keep doing what yout doing?Don't change a thing.“

“I was one of the first to eat from here when it opened five years ago in the former D'Angelo's location. They food is outstanding, the service is friendly and the space is VERY clean.That's where the compliments stop unfortunately.Despite everywhere else in the area having reopened their dining areas, this location is still Take Out only for unexplained reasons. The McDonald's across the street was one of the first to close their dining space due to the Pandemic and was also one of the last to reopen theirs but they DID reopen their dining area.We're now almost two full years after the Pandemic ended but their dining space remains closed. The only possible explaination I can think of at this point is they're keeping the dining areas closed so they don't have to bother cleaning those spaces several times a day. Either way, they should have a sign posted letting people know if the dining area is permanently closed or no at this point.That aside, the prices on the entrees have been gradually increasing. When they first opened five years ago, the Oxtail plate came in three size options (Small, Medium and Large). In the summer of 2019 they announced due to rising prices on oxtail meat, they were dropping their Small and Large options for the Oxtail and would sell the Medium at a higher price. It started at $18 and is now $22. I like their Oxtail but I'm not willing to pay THAT much for it. I'm better off buying the meat and cooking it myself in that case.It's sad that they've decided to pass those rising costs onto their customers, most of whom live in the neighborhood--myself included. Other options have also had price increases in recent years. The pandemic sucked for everyone but and people get you need to be profitable to stay in business and pay your employees but this is really pushing it.One myth/rumor I've heard for a while that I can personally confirm is NOT true is some think the food is cooked at another location and brought there. This is NOT true. All food is cooked on site in the kitchen in the back. The food is SAFE, Sanitary and good. They also take custom requests on all orders within reason. For example if you want to mix and match certain items in the same plate, you can. Just ask.“

“I admit I typically stick with chain restaurants and "what I know" to avoid restaurant disappointment. I have been eyeing Axyl and Byrne since watching a Phantom Gourmet review. After reviewing a few less than stellar reviews, I hemmed and hawed about trying this place. The biggest regret I have honestly is not trying it sooner! Wow, where to begin. I started off with the boardwalk fries with pulled pork on top. The cheese was fantastic as well as the meat. My husband and I shared a platter with brisket (oh my god, best brisket I've tried thus far in life, jerk chicken, and pulled chicken. We tried for sides broccoli salad and potato salad both of which were delicious. I left so full.
Staff was accommodating and pleasant. Enjoyable atmosphere. Don't trust negative reviews without trying a place out yourself. If we know anything from society as a whole nowadays, is that difference of opinion is everywhere. Give these guys a shot! Amazing bbq!“
