Grew up around the corner. Came back to see if the Italian sub still hits. And it does!

Stopped by. Luigi was making subs and singing opera. Total old school Italian shop. Guy before me was getting Meatball subs. Looked awesome

Love Luigi and his shop. Subs are fantastic. Favorites are the meatball and eggplant parm. Fresh pasta :)

I agree with a previous reviewer that this place is dated with charm. The proprietor is a lovely man who makes your sandwich with glee and a song. While the store's atmosphere is aging and in need of a little pick me up , it's nice that they make fresh pasta and have a selection of other Italian corner store goods for purchase. I got a deli meats sandwich (not an Italian). The meat was cut in front of me on a slicer and fresh , but I found the sandwich a bit salty, even for deli meat (maybe the bread or the meat ?) . Great service and a nice local business , even if the food I sampled wasn't at the top. I'd bet the pasta and the eggplant parm are great here. Maybe next time

Best Italian sub shop outside the North End. The owners are wonderful people and their Italian subs are THE BEST. (I'm a vegetarian but they're so good I make an exception a couple times a year. Don't judge. ;) Eggplant parm is also great, as is the deli and grocery selection. Perfect rolls, perfect sauce. So lucky to have Casa d'Italia Right around the corner!

Freshly made pasta, including lasagna noodles! Bought some and fettuccini. Can't wait to try them! Served by a wonderful gentleman who's run the store for 34 years.

What amazing place , local, small, and the owner is great, really interesting Italian products. If you're in Waltham and some Italian, that's the place.

A classic old-school Italian grocer—right in my backyard! How lucky am I?? Lived in West Newton 5 years before finding this little gem. It’s hiding in a residential area. Really beautiful, authentic food and imported groceries. All the necessities and THE best Italian sub since Toody’s of Wakefield closed. Nicest owner. Very sweet guy. See for yourself-it’s a tiny piece of the North End right here in Newton.

The owner Luigi is a funny guy, and he's got good food. Definitely worth checking out if you're interested in checking out italian food goods.
