Casa D'italia was a huge part of my childhood. I lived at 177 Newton Street in the pink house on the corner, and my mother often sent me to get your subs (the most amazing). I definitely need to come back. I haven't been back since the house fire.
Such a great little local Italian grocery and sub shop with old school charm. The owner was very friendly. Fresh food made daily! I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich. Will definitely return to this Italian gem next time im in the area.
A classic old-school Italian grocer—right in my backyard! How lucky am I?? Lived in West Newton 5 years before finding this little gem. It’s hiding in a residential area. Really beautiful, authentic food and imported groceries. All the necessities and THE best Italian sub since Toody’s of Wakefield closed. Nicest owner. Very sweet guy. See for yourself-it’s a tiny piece of the North End right here in Newton.
