I have been going to Grassfields for many years and have been very pleased. The past few times I have been there I ordered the broiled scallops and have been disappointed. The muscle on the scallops are not removed which are very tough to eat. Also I feel they are gritty. I am hoping that someone reads this and corrects the issue because Grassfields is a lovely place.

My wife and I chose this restaurant based on location, reviews and menu. Our waitress was wonderful and when we asked about the scrod, she said it was their best sellers. My wife had the broiled and I had the stuffed scrod. Both of us said it was excellent and super fresh. The prices were surprisingly low compared to what we saw on other menus and this place could certainly charge more.
I would definitely go here again if I am in the area.

Go here occasionally but today was different from my past experiences. We had a waiter named Tim. I have never been served by such a person in my entire 83 years. Efficient, friendly, catering to our every need. I have never seen anyone in the service industry as nice as him.

We usually enjoy all our meals here but just recently it just wasn't good. Fish was sooo dry and my husband's teriyaki steak was very rare even though he asked for medium. It was sent back and came back charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. Service was good.
My experience at Grassfield's (Waltham location) is best described as inconsistent. Went one early evening and ordered the Honey Glazed Salmon - it had zero glaze, and it was incredibly dry and overcooked. I went a month later, and the same dish was prepared and cooked well and was delicious. It was a whole different experience from the previous visit, in the quality of food and service. We go because my son likes it (he loves the old-school steak and seafood restaurant vibe), but I'm always a little hesitant because you're never really sure what you're going to get. I did notice that the manager was present and actively monitoring the operations of the restaurant on the latter visit, which I think impacted the quality of our experience.

Hasn't changed a bit. I have been going to Grassfields and Jimmy's. I would return to any one of these as I do weekly if not bi-weekly. The staff at this particular location are not super friendly but you won't be disappointed with the food.
