Went to Penang with a large group of 12 and were able to be accommodated. Service was quick and good. Ate the basil fried rice which was delicious. Quite large portions though so can plan to share or taking leftovers.

Most of the items we got here were good, except for the char kway teow which wasn’t very authentic I feel. Still a really good dining experience and the restaurant has a nice

5 stars just for the Hainan Chicken. Hits the spot when Thai chicken doesn't. Chicken rice is good and comes with a sour slightly sweet sauce that I like.Their Char Kway Teow also good.

Beef rendang was just ok. Not spicy enough or enough flavor. Didn’t try other dishes.

Service was extremely fast for a party of 6. We all ordered different dishes from Roti Canai, Beef Chow Fun, Clay Pot, Singapore Noodles, etc. We had two vegetarians in our group and they easily accommodated them by changing their dishes to make them vegetarian-friendly.Vegetarian options: They can change some dishes for vegetarians when requested.

BRO I LOVE MOODY ST. PENANG WITH MY WHOLE HEART. I grew up eating Malaysian food with my mom and when my brother and I went to the Chinatown location, they were hella rude to us, so I was skeptical about this one too. However, the service has never not been super attentive and really nice. The manager/owner(?) also always checks in with us every time ive been. The roti is crispy and light. The Hainese chicken is super juicy and flavorful. The chicken satay has a generous portion and the peanut sauce has the perfect ratio. The ABC is a little different from NYC but the ice is so nicely shaved with lots of toppings underneath.

Based on Google reviews, stopped by for dinner today. Water being served in solo cups should've been a warning, but pressed on anyway. Atmosphere is like a fast food joint.  We were hoping the food would make up for other stuff.  Started with Roti Canai and bean sprouts appetizers. Bean sprouts are literally just slitely fried and tossed in sauce. No flavor what so ever. Roti canai was chewy and the chicken in the dipping sauce tasted old and funky. We ordered Masak Lemak Chicken, Singapore noodles and shrimp with lady fingers. Only shrimp with lady fingers was edible. The sauce in Masak Lemak tasted like it was out of a jar and more sweet than spice. The chicken in it also tasted old and bad. We pretty much left it uneaten. Singapore noodles are entirely without flavor (not even salt) and just bunch of noodles and a few pieces of shrimp. Also left mostly uneaten. Shrimp with oakra is edible and that's what we finished since we have nothing else. After spending more than $70, we went home hungry.. I am not sure why this place has 4.5 on google!

I love authentic Malaysian dishes. They tasted like those I remembered. The Americanized ones are not for me.Kid-friendliness: American kids would love the mango, and the pineapple dishes.

I recently dined at Penang on a leisurely Sunday afternoon and was delighted by the impeccable service from start to finish. Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome and was promptly seated at a spotlessly clean table. The attentive staff made our dining experience truly enjoyable. When we placed our orders, the kitchen staff efficiently prepared and served our meals in a timely manner. And, I must say, the food was absolutely delectable. Penang's dedication to customer service shines through at every step.

Sushi! Lots of kids in the restaurant. Authentic experience, including the option to reserve a knee-level table for larger groups.

Everything about Penang was sun standard. The food did NOT have the taste of the original flavors that my palate was longing for. The basic Roti Canai dish was a disaster. I can say no further. We left right after apportion. Didn't have the desire to dwell into the main course. So sad.

Have never tried Penang before but was craving Hainanese chicken and rice. I saw that there were good reviews so I ordered delivery.. and got a bunch of bones. I truly could not pick out more than a couple of shreds of meat and wish the restaurant was more considerate when they sent out this order. Like did they really think this was acceptable? Oh, and I'm pregnant so this is an extra bummer. I ended up having to make myself eggs for dinner

Tried Veggie Roti Canai and spicy curry tofu clay pot. It was delicious! The staff is very friendly. They were willing to make modifications to the dishes according to preferences (in my case, vegetarian). Highly recommended!
