It’s unfortunate I’m giving a mid rating because this place is great with a wonderful staff and great selection of meals and drinks.

Came here to try their Rueben, and it was a let down. Bread was soggy and had a taste of cardboard. The meat was extra fatty which I’ve had before but meat tasted like it was pulling out of a bag and warmed up for a bit then dropped on the plate. Happened to be in Watertown, googled nearby restaurants for lunch and Halfway cafe came up as a suggestion. It was only a mile away, so I decided to try it out. In business since 1964, it turned out to be a lively place with friendly staff and good food. I ordered a beer, which came with a small bowl of movie theater popcorn to much in while I waited for my grilled chicken sandwich. One of my favorite dive bars with an amazing summer menu. Lobster rolls and clams for a decent price, good portions and no wait AND you don't have to drive into the city for any of it ?? Trivia nights are also great, but sit closer to the guy because it's the pen/paper/ runner style instead of the modern ones where you submit on your phone. I love the staff here, they always get the job done right.
