Food is delicious, and the bars tender is very nice. I like the vibe, a table of girls were singing songs. Not too lou, but very cheering.
Olespana was one of the first places I tried when I moved to Watertown and it’s become the place I always take my friends when they visit! My favorites are the patatas bravas, the wings, and the gambas al ajillo
Everything was fabulous, food delicious, service friendly and helpful, and atmosphere was so unique! Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!
Apart from the attentive service which was good, unfortunately I can't say the same for the food - which is what we went for. The paella marinera tasted bland, had no crispiness at the bottom and was way too watery. It didn't smell or taste flavorful at all, and looked very unlike other paella which we've had in Spain and other Spanish restaurants in Boston. I mean, who serves the peppers cut into long strips instead of chopped up in tiny cubes? And the squid was dumped on top in a whole, large piece. The patatas were more like French fries, and the sardines were ok but nothing spectacular. What a let down, very disappointing food.
They only had four basic cocktails and none of the other drinks. The vegetarian options were extremely limited and overpriced for plain, uninspiring food. Definitely won’t be returning.
Wonderful tapas, drinks, desserts, owners and decor. LOVE Olespana. New favorite spot!!!
Absolutely great authentic food; tortilla patatas rivaled one at Plath Major; fried sardines for anyone missing true Mediterranean cuisine! Dessert creams Catalans and cheese cake just like the ones we had in Spain
Good place to visit
They didn’t know how to make a drink that was on the menu. Our paella tasted like it was made with a boxed rice dinner. Our waitress disappeared to eat and hang out at the bar, so it took forever to close out and move on.
Food was not good at all. Nothing like Barcelona, Toro, or La Bodega. The staff also wasn't attentive and the menus are dirty

We were able to book a reservation for Christmas dinner so were quite surprised to arrive only to have the restaurant closed. No comments about the food or other aspects because we couldn't experience them.
Very disappointed. 1) Terrible service: We were joking how we were forgotten about and should just leave money on the table after the awful house red wine was served to us in the most ridiculous way. But that was just a sign of things to come. 2) The good was inedible, like we were served canned mushrooms and mealy overcooked shrimp. 3) the place was empty, the music too loud, and we wondered who would go here. It smells too and not good.
Our meal at Olespana was disappointing. This was our second visit to the restaurant and it was very underwhelming. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to greet us, then once we ordered, most of our food came out before any of the drinks. Finally, after asking for the drinks, someone came over and said that we don't have Manhattans. The restaurant is billed as a whiskey bar and no alternative was offered in place of the Manhattan. The food was fine, but not excpetional. I love the concept, but the service needs to be better.
Nothing was good! What a disappointment! We left hungry, just couldn't eat anything we ordered.
Tough to write a review. We made reservations for Saturday, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed for a fundraiser. They forgot to close the reservation window, so they turned us away. Granted the fundraiser was for a great cause, but at least notify people who made reservations that you are closed. Esta es muy mail hecho.
