Mel's was wonderful! My father and I were visiting town for my sister's graduation and wanted somewhere to get breakfast. We chose Mel's based on the good reviews and no wait time. It was my favorite meal the whole trip. HUGE portion sizes with unique flavors that are delicious and satisfying. I got an Omelette with the home fries and a side of the featured apple French toast. I was not expecting how much food I was going to receive! The home fries were seasoned like Thanksgiving stuffing and the French toast tasted like apple pie. Only took off one star from service because it was hard to flag down our server. Go to Mel's, you will be glad you did!

Very cute and cozy neighborhood diner that offers affordable food with generous portions.
Highly recommend getting the steak tips and eggs in addition to the gigantic chocolate chip pancakes
If you're in the mood for a cozy sweet drink the hot chocolate is absolutely delicious as well

You get a lot of food for a fair price. We were in town visiting & I’d definitely go again!

Food was awesome and once we ordered it was ready in around 5 minutes. That's perfect for what we were looking for to start a day.

Great location, nice atmosphere, good service with awful food. Much better breakfast just about anywhere else. Have eaten here numerous times, and the food never improves. Will not be gong back.

Insultingly expensive for what you get. Everything is 1.75x the price it should be. Today I got fairly basic eggs Benedict for $18, every breakfast sandwich is $13 or more.

The food is good and the staff are really nice, but the cost is just silly. You pay a luxury price for good, but very standard meals.

Anyone who says the prices are "reasonable" just hasn't been to a diner in years. Breakfast sandwiches should be <$10 and eggs Benedict should be ~$12 at most. Muffins should be ~$2.50 not $4.20. Even in the city I can get prices like this.

I've been here many times over the years, and I always order an omelette. This pic is their Philly steak omelette. (Steak, American cheese, onions, and peppers.) I asked for crispy home fries but they weren't cooked as well as I hoped. Service is hit or miss, depending on your server. Food is tasty.

Very nice diner with great pancakes and huge portions. The service is really extremely friendly, you sit comfortably and there is always time for a little chat. You really feel at home here. It gets crowded quickly on weekends. You can see: Mel's Cafe z is very popular.

Kid-friendliness: Super friendly and very nice to children. There is a cup of pens and coloring pages.
