Gluten free, dairy free fried seafood. That might be all this needs to say ? It’s delicious and there are a couple locations. This one has amazing nice outdoor seating area with lots of parking. It is loud though and it can get really busy (it’s good to call ahead and check the wait.. there is areas to sit and wait but they’re uncovered and the bar isn’t always big enough to land people).

Had a great lunch at Mac’s Shack this weekend with friends! The ambiance is so fun, and the food overall was really tasty. We started with some super crisp and delicious oysters. Some of us then tried the chowder and the fish soup (both were quite good with the fish soup probably being our favorite of the two). For entrees we had a cucumber roll, the halibut with lobster mash, the cod cheeks appetizer, and the hamburger (not great and Mac’s Ptown has a better one). The lobster mash was insanely delicious, and the cod cheeks were a winner as well. Would definitely come back and definitely recommend.

A wonderful meal and fabulous atmosphere. Nice they have vegetarian options. Great lobster rolls. Excellent service.
The service unfortunately ruined the experience. Our waiter was wearing so much cologne that we dreaded him coming to the table and had to hold our breath How can the restaurant not have spoken to him about this? Also every single plate was served at room temperature from the clam chowder starters, to my husbands clams and fries, to my scallops, rice and veggies. It ruined the taste of the food. Who wants cold fried clams and chowder? We were sitting in the large tented area and perhaps it’s too far from the kitchen or perhaps the very distracted waiter who never checked on how we were enjoying the food wasn’t checking the kitchen often enough. If the food was actually hot I think it would have been fine but as it was, quite unappetizing and I would not go again. It was a Monday night, so not a result of being super busy.

$32 for 5 fried scallops. Unacceptable and extremely disappointed. Planned on splitting the scallops with my wife and had to go order more from elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.
The food here is phenomenal! The lobsters rolls and oysters were the best in the area and were so good that we came back a second time despite the rudest service I’ve ever had in my life. I bartended for years so understand how awful the public can be, but this young brunette waitress was so insanely and unnecessarily rude it almost ruined the meal for us. We were genuinely confused why she was being so mean. Like girl, we just came here to eat food in peace! Even the 2nd time we came back our other waitress was effective and civil, but really cold. If it weren’t for how amazing the food is, we would never come back.

I don't recommend coming here. The greeting we received was one step short of clueless and devoid of thought. We were asked to sit outside, not under the tent bar side, and told the waiter or waitress was on break. Having worked in the industry longer than the staff member could count on two hands, I would have accompanied guests to their table regardless. Instead, she flatly refused, saying no. I will never set foot in this place again. As a frequent visitor to Wellfleet and other local restaurants, I expected more. The bookstore was a better anyway. CIAO~ You obviously have a problem with the hostess by the reviews that have been left.. lol Good luck!!

Our favorite place did not disappoint. Great food, sushi and drinks. We sat at the sushi bar for this particular meal. The dining room decor could definitely use some updating and it can be noisy inside. Typically we prefer to sit outside in the tent but enjoyed our food inside just as much.
