The Block & Tackle Reviews
Been coming here for the last couple years. The pitmaster is a gentleman who knows what he's doing. very tasty food and some fun sides. very friendly and always good wait staff. shall keep coming!
Great food made with TLC, a beer garden with good live music, picnic tables, and umbrellas. The staff and owners are very welcoming and friendly. Plenty of seating in the dining area as well as bar area. Very cool decor and is a great year-round staple restaurant for locals of Wellfleet and visitors to the outer cape.
Amazing food and service!

The Block & Tackle is a restaurant located on the Outer Cape that is open year-round, making it a great spot for locals during the off-season. The restaurant has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with a good selection of draft beers. The menu features various smoked meats, including pulled pork and brisket, which are moist and tender with a delicate smoky flavor. Customers have praised the smoked bologna sliced in a big chunk and turned into an outstanding sandwich, as well as the pulled pork topped mac n cheese, which was described as fire. The brisket burger and pulled pork sandwich are considered the best by many visitors, with the pork being very smoky, not slathered in overbearing sauce, and free of excess fat. The sides, such as collard greens, beans, mashed potatoes, garlic fries, and fried brussel sprouts, are fresh, tasty, and light. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options like fries and salads, as well as a variety of vegan dishes.
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with a flat land and a pull door. It has booth seating, tables, and a bar area. They also offer to-go orders for those who prefer to dine at home. Service is friendly and attentive, with customers noting the great service and the taste of fountain Coke tasting like true Coke without any local water aftertaste. The aroma of the smoker, especially when doing brisket, adds to the authentic barbecue experience. Customers have expressed a desire to return to enjoy more BBQ meat and try to eat their way out. The owner and staff are approachable and welcoming, making it a popular spot for families and groups. The pitmaster, Patrick, is an expert in barbecue, and the food continues to impress guests long after their meal. Overall, the Block & Tackle is considered by many to be the best BBQ on the Cape, offering a delicious alternative to the area’s seafood.
