Delicious as always! Gorgonzola Statler chicken is amazing. Mediterranean prepared shrimp was sooo good. Signature cocktails were fun too. Very pleasant evening.

Van Rensselaer's is the perfect place for a delicious meal with excellent service, and appropriate pricing. We are always treated as special friends whom the staff cares about. It's become our favorite place on the Cape to enjoy a great meal.

Reliably good and reasonably priced. The owners and hosts are welcoming, helpful and involved. Almost all of the wait staff are very efficient and accommodating.

Had Lily as our server again great pace her recommendation on one of the specials was great Hope to go back before they close for the season

Another enjoyable evening! Once again, food was great, service attentive & friendly and a meal would not be complete without the owner stopping at the table! Also, this evening Van Rens hosted a fundraiser, giving part of their proceeds to Wildcare Cape Cod. Love supporting this business who gives back to the community.

Van Rensselaer's restaurant is consistently great. This family restaurant is a special place that cares about their customers and the community. For a diner who prefers smaller portions, they offer a smaller dinner size, priced accordingly. Highly recommended.

We always have a great meal at VR's. Appetizers, main course, drinks, desserts also. We keep going back because they are so consistent. We go in the height of the summer when it's busy, and we were just there this past weekend twice! October is our favorite time of year to go, less people and quiet. But no matter when you go you'll be happy you did!

This restaurant never disappoints! Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection...the hosts greet you at the entrance with a smile and a friendly greeting... they always ask how your experience was and if there was anything they could've done better. What more could you ask? Even the bathrooms are immaculate! We come back for breakfast after dinner the night before every time!!

Every visit to Van Rensselaer's is wonderful. Delicious food, great, service, and an overall warm and friendly atmosphere! Last night I had sea scallops. They were amazing!

I had very high expectations for Van Ressselaers and quite honestly was disappointed. I started off with Wellfleet Oysters on the half shell and they were exquisite. My next course was a steamed lobster. I had explained to the waiter that I had severe arthritis in my hands and wanted the chef to cut open the claws so I could easily get the meat out. Somewhere along those lines of communication the term “easily” got lost in translation because although there were indeed cuts in the claws, they were neither sufficient or deep enough to accomplish what I needed which was to be able to get the lobster meat out without using the nutcracker. Fail #1. Fail #2 - lobster was drastically overcooked, making it tough and chewy, and taking away most of its sweetness, assuming there was any there to start. I must admit that this is the very first lobster in my 68 year existence that I have NOT finished. Lobster used to be my favorite food, but not after tonight. This one was fairly bad. It makes me sad. A $75 something or other dinner for a mediocre entree. That's just not right. But I didn't want a whole new lobster cooked, I was too stuffed. A discount on the meal would have been nice but tonight's dinners were for charity so I didn't feel right about doing that either. I don't think I will return, nothing exceptional there calling me back. It's a shame. They used to be an excellent place for lobster!

Excellent restaurant, as always. I have never had a bad meal at VR, and we have been going there for many years, first as a family with young children, then as older adults with groups of friends. The food is consistently good, and the service is prompt without feeling like anyone is hovering over us. The owners always stop by our table to see if we're enjoying ourselves.

We arrived and were seated promptly, nine in our party. Waitress arrived quickly, explained the specials, and asked for our drink order. Drinks and apps arrived at appropriate times. Waitress checked in regularly but at correct intervals. Dinner arrived and was great ! I had the tuna, medium rare with the “ special presentation “. Special presentation is garlic roasted tri color fingerling potatoes, sautéed rainbow chard, and harvest beets & mango salad. The pairing was excellent, fish cooked as expected and it was great !! Everyone had a great time ! Would definitely go back to this place !!!
