The food is wonderful here, and reasonably priced considering that it is top quality, unusual, so well and freshly prepared, so thoughtfully plated and served. I had fried oysters as an appetizer and the venison as a main. We shared a caesar salad. He had the blackened fish and an appetizer of cod and lobster on toasted brioche. It was all very good (I liked my dishes better). The servers were really good too, extremely attentive and kind. The pace of the place was nice- relaxed but not a big lag time between ordering and eating. If you don't mind a loud restaurant, then by all means check this place out; it's great! I told the server that I was not happy about the noise and she seemed to understand, and I did not feel sorry to mention it. That kind of atmosphere is not for everyone, and certainly not for someone who does not drink alcohol, and also has sensitive hearing. We discovered that speaking in low tones helped us to communicate through the noise, but it could not neutralize the bombastic cheer of our fellow diners, a few of whom were gifted and prolific orators.

My new favorite restaurant! Went to Waxwing for the first time tonight. We shared the oysters, green salad, pasta Bolognese and Fluke special, chocolate torte, butterscotch pot de creme Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Great craft cocktail options and wine. The atmosphere was very intimate, the music was great, the service was exceptional. Did I say the service was exceptional? We felt very attended to from the minute we walked through the door. Very welcoming.

Exquisite food, wonderful service, romantic atmosphere, and always creative. We went there recently for the vegetarian mushroom tasting and were blown away by the chef's innovative and luscious use of local fungi. As always, the team was terrific. Among the best cuisine in the valley and definitely perfect for date night.

I had dinner there earlier tonight for my birthday. Service was top notch as usual and I had the duck, which was a special this evening, and it was phenomenal. I don't usually write reviews but this genuinely was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I cannot recommend enough.

AMAZING experience. Will be the first to admit, as a French man who traveled all over the world, it is hard to impress me. I had not been BLOWN AWAY by food like this in YEARS! Chef Paul and Kristina (bartender/server extraordinaire) were FANTASTIC!! In the very short time it will take for this place to BLOW UP in popularity, I suggest eating there AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. When they get their first Michelin star, it will be harder to do so ??Vegetarian options: AMAZING tasting vegetarian menu! Non-vegeterian guests of our party got just as blown away as we were with their Brussel SproutsDietary restrictions: I can't eat onions or garlic. The staff was incredibly careful and spoke directly to the chef to make sure everything we ordered was ok!

The energy and excitement and creativity of the staff at Waxwing cannot be contained!! This buzz is naturally reflected in patrons visiting the restaurant, so be prepared for quite the hubbub in the main room- not a place for a "quiet romantic gathering."That said, I love Waxwing: the creativity in food prep is superlative, as well as the kitchen staff's attention to detail. Yum to the 10th degree! Love the different, varied wine menu, with selections you won't find elsewhere. For instance, I love Langedocs, from southern France... and they have 3 on their wine list.Do not go there and complain about prices, please! This kind of quality and attention comes at a price. Go there and celebrate good food unabashedly! (i.e., without concern for price!)May they live long and prosper!!

Wow!!! I feel almost bad reviewing it because it is SOOOO GOOD I fear it will very soon be so popular one will not be able to get a random reservation when this place becomes as popular as it deserves... Very picky French guy here eating with folks from Switzerland and LA. ALL members of our parties literally stopped speaking at the first bites of each dishes because of how delicious the dishes were (vegetarian and otherwise)! On top of that, add INCREDIBLE HUMANS working there!! Bartender Christina and Chef Paul were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I CANNOT recommend this place enough! Amazing decor, great drinks, even better food and INCREDIBLE people! I couldn't have a better birthday meal! I would squander any Boston restaurant in the near future to come back. I dare you to prove me wrong!
