A last-minute early evening dinner reservation at the bluebird bar in West Newton was an amazing experience. After being warmly welcomed, we seated at a comfortable booth and quickly served our request for a dozen fresh oysters. Go for a drink or a hamburger (which I don't eat), but skip the rest of the menu. Worst Cesaer salad of my life...goopy without even any parmesan cheese (I got some after I complained) and of course, no anchoives. the shrimp kabobs sounded interesting, but in reality, there were three shrimp in a pile of what i think was green goddess dressing. my friend had a 'bowl" which sounded good and might have made a good side, but it was too dense and spicy to be edible....
