“The Cottage Bar is hands down the best meal I have ever gotten in New England! The Irish breakfast is spot on, the dinners are, absolutely breathtaking! the food is hot, each layer is as hot as the one before. I am amazed every time how the entire meal stays hot! The atmosphere is welcoming and kind. I always go with my husband and my toddler, they have never treated us differently. I honestly can’t wait till next visit. I 100% can say I won’t pay for a meal at another restaurant (except one pizza place in marshfield) and we live over an hour away!“
“Ordered the Irish curry and the Sam Adams Cold Snap, both were great! I came alone and sat at a booth. It wasn't too busy, but wasn't empty either. It was a quiet and chill pub, with good music playing in the background. Would recommend dining here if you wanted something quiet.“
“Tasty Beef and Guiness Pie, mashed potatoes and carrots. Background music was just at the right level to enable a lively dinner conversation with old friends. Enough screens to glace at the Final Four while not being distracting as we caught up. The Dubliner does the old Kinsale justice! ❤“
“Visiting from overseas and found this cracking neighbourhood pub. Service very efficient and friendly. Food was also really good - the special fries were delicious - and a great pint of guinness. Brilliant atmosphere to cap it all off. Well done guys.“
“The menu features classic Irish dishes alongside American pub favorites, all expertly prepared and served with a smile. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming ambiance, making every visit feel like a gathering among friends. Highly recommend!“
“Went for a quick lunch and sat in a booth, across from the bar. The food and prices were great. The service, from the bartender, was good and friendly. The bathroom was actually pretty clean. I had a very good pastrami sandwich with French Fries and my guest had a nice Irish Stew. Would definitely recommend and return. ???“
“We finally returned to The Snug since before COVID restrictions. We loved the Irish music and oldies bands. We arrived before the music this evening and were lucky to be seated immediately. It is usually crowded and noisy. Our server was personable and got our drinks and food quickly. The Snug is, as the name suggests, a snug Irish pub filled with Irish memorabilia. The Smithwicks had a plump foamy head and is lighter than Guinness. My SO's sangria had a hint of peach schnapps flavor. The Greek salad was more than enough for two. The fried haddock sandwich was so big I thought it was the fish dinner. The fish was flaky with a crunchy exterior and the roll was soft and delicious. I had it served with vegetables; the carrots and green beans were tasty but the broccoli was cold. The appetizing chicken salad sandwich was a bit different; shredded chicken and craisins were on a hot dog bun and the mayo was on the side. We will return to The Snug soon to enjoy the music, food and drinks.“
“Paddy Barry's Quincy is truly a remarkable pub, earning a solid 9 out of 10 rating. Stepping inside feels like being transported back to the lively atmosphere of a pub in Cork City, right by the quay. The energy is infectious, with the sounds of laughter and conversation filling the air. You'll also have the pleasure of encountering craters with incredible stories to share, making every visit an adventure. And let's not forget the talented musician who always graces the pub with their guitar skills, taking the ambiance to new heights. We are incredibly fortunate to have a pub of this caliber in Boston and the surrounding area. And when it comes to the perfect pint, Paddy Barry's Quincy undoubtedly delivers the best in the South Shore“
“First time there and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I told her I didn't want to cook or do dishes and she smiled and told me "we got you here " And she sure did !!! The breakfast was amazing and so much that we where so Fulllll and happy .. hands down great place to have breakfast or take out“
“Visiting from out of town. Out of many great places we chose here. The food was good. Our server was the bartender, and she was horrible. I had to get up for a refill of my drink. My husband's food wasn't correct. She never checked in on us until we were done. She was just plain rude.“
“On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the staff for hosting my brothers funeral reception. We also had his 50th birthday day at Doyle’s only four years ago. The food was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. A special thank you to Marc Garcea for his help and hard work.“
“We had a great visit. Server, ugh can't remember his name... (long-haired guy with a great smile), was super attentive and accommodating as we had concert tickets and needed help to expedite. Great setting with delicious food, chicken blta was first rate. Beers delicious! Very pleased. Thank “
“This is an awesome neighborhood bar. Most of the patrons are locals, Irish, and speak some Gaelic. However, everyone that comes to this bar is immediately welcomed as family. It's not uncommon for the regulars to strike up friendly conversations with visitors. Just a heads up, JJ's is cash only so bring some cash or be ready to use the ATM at the back of the bar.“
“I love going to this place, and we always enjoy the food, service, except today I request a glass of water with lemon, and the waitress brought me a plastic cup with water and lemon, sorry I don'tdrink water in a plastic cup, so nicely I ask her to change it to a glass , and she was polite, no problem, but next to us was sitting two elderly couple that since we walk in they were very upset because we sit in the next table, and as I was asking the young lady for a regular glass ,this older lady was talking trush about me, and the fellow who was sitting next to me though that because we are Spanish,we couldn't speak English, he respond the lady that Ibwas trush, I respect people, we are educated, and I didn't said what they deserve to be told ,because my parents educated me, I was raised here in Massachusetts, and probably have more manners than this old cauple, they show their true color, racist, think they own every space in the earth, shame on them, if they are so afraid of Spanish people they should not go out of their shell, I been living in Massachusetts for 55 yrs. I don't need to feel uncomfortable in any public place because of few pigeons that cannot leave at home their racism, they are ridiculous, we are in 2023 United State is not only for morons like them, the restaurant is nice, and service is great, probably this young girl is new, don't know what happen, she was nice , but like always there are people that shoyld mind there own business.Parking: Plenty of parking..“
“Just got back from there tonight after spending a spectacular evening another one with my cousin there let me start with the atmosphere warm, welcoming, inviting the food is stupendous the service is exceptional. The owner is there often and what a lovely man he has great staff friends community couldn't ask for more in an Irish bar in Massachusetts. I've been to a few some of them deliver and some do not but this one definitely does I highly recommend it and I hope they have a wonderful Christmas New Year's and 2024. Thank you for making me feel at home.“
“This is a great little place with really good Irish food and good selection. I have tried several items on the menu and been very satisfied. Because I go during the week around lunch time it's hard to find a good server but each time I have been my server has been quite attentive and very nice. The atmosphere is okay but very quiet when I go there but again this could be because of the time I go. I had the Reuben this time with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were delicious and cooked perfectly. The Reuben was also delicious and it had a very good ratio of meat to cheese to bread. The bread was crunchy and buttered lightly for a very well made sandwich. My uncle had the seafood platter and he enjoyed it very much saying it was lightly fried and not over fried and everything came out hot. It was really good.“
“I've been to Durty Nelly's a few times, day and night, and love it every time I go. No frills, but a solid spot that's relatively tourist free. I've found the bartenders to be efficient and fun to be around and the place to have a great atmosphere with AWESOME music playing. No food here, but a great spot for pre or post dinner drinks - and the Guinness was PERFECT, one of the best pours I've ever had. A place I'll continue to go whenever I'm in Boston/the North End.“
“We had a wonderful breakfast at McSwiggans this morning. The Irish breakfast was amazing with authentic Irish brown bread and wonderful Irish tea. The service was excellent with a great atmosphere. I can't wait to return to try the dinner menu.“
