I've been going to Simard's roast beef since I was a child back in the '70s when it was called Jack in the box. I absolutely love this place! :-)

My favorite menu item is obviously their juicy and tender medium rare roast beef, smothered in James River barbecue sauce. (King size only on an onion roll for me)

They have a very diverse menu. Their tacos are especially awesome! Whenever
I go there, I always order their awesome roast beef and tacos! 😋

The owners and staff are super friendly!
Even though I only go inside for takeout, because I hate eating in restaurants alone, and I think drive-thrus are super lazy and very impersonal, I can't get enough of this place. My 53-year loyalty more than proves that. Yes I'm old!~LOL

I decided on fried chicken and fried vegetable rice, which turned out to be an awesome choice. The rice came out first, and it was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crisp, just the way I like it, even though I didn't request it that way. The customer service was top-notch—very professional. I only interacted with one staff member, but the service was fast, and I didn't have to wait long for anything. I highly recommend you try their food. I'll definitely be coming back. “Because the majority of their food, dressings, sauces, etc are made in-house and taste incredible. You pay a little more for some of their items but it is definitely worth every penny. And the portion sizes are great too. Their menu takes u from soups, wraps, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads and hot dishes. “Stopped in from out of town for some pizza on a Friday night after a recommendation from a friend. This place was great! We ate inside (two tables available, with typical nostalgic pizzeria flair) and enjoyed ourselves. The simple yet fun 1990’s decor, as seen in other review pictures made me smile, especially the ninja turtles framed picture. We got half cheese, and half with mushrooms, onions, pepperoni and garlic. Definitely recommend!“

“For those that read about the problems with family dough pizza and choose not to go back, give them another chance. We’ve been picking our pizza usually but yesterday i felt like having it delivered and didn’t want to go out. I called for delivery at 2:30 yesterday and the young female owner said we don’t have a driver until 4:30. I said ok thank you and hung up. I was going to call back and go get it but I didn’t have a chance. The young woman called me back and said one of the cooks offered to deliver my order. So I placed it and he came. I thought that was really really nice of her because no other place would’ve done that. yes, if you went there once, and had a bad experience, please give them another chance. I track my macros and calories and have done my own back end assumptions based on what I order but it would be really helpful if they provided the facts. Two prime rib dinners and chicken finger dinner were amazing! The portions are huge and the rib was cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the Veal Parmesan and his meal was not so amazing. It was over cooked and too much breading. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was way too sweet. Everything else was perfection! I would recommend trying this place out especially if you get the prime rib!! The service was spot on too!!“
