I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Matadora. The tapas were delicious especially the lamb chops, chicken skewers, short rib and polenta cake. Additionally, the service was swift and attentive. I look forward to returning in the future!
Matadora delivers where it matters most: the food. Unfortunately, it struggles with when it matters most: time. We arrived on a Saturday evening to a nearly empty dining room and gave ourselves a generous 90 minutes. Even with few guests, both food and drink service moved slowly from the start. As the evening went on, the bar area filled up and the delays became more pronounced. The reason became clear. Only three people were working in the kitchen on a Saturday night, a choice...
Our server was polite, witty, and had a good sense of humor with our group. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and beverages and provided helpful insight on pairing based on our chosen dishes. The dishes were all well executed concepts, but aired on the side of safety rather than taking a risk or being more creative. Overall, it was a very good meal and I would visit again.
