The lemon caper sauce had ONE visible caper. The cook claimed that it was because they were diced up and that's why I couldn't find them! The tuna appetizer was so salty as to be almost inedible while the herb-crusted fish entree was criminally underseasoned.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
I was first introduced to Sam Walkers in Woburn, MA back in 2022 and have been going at least once a week since then. The bartender Crystal is phenomenal, friendly, knowledgeable and always has a kind word to say. I have never had a bad meal there. My current favorite is the Healthy burger. It's delicious!!! Sam Walker's American Tavern offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious food and excellent service. The spacious interior provides a cozy atmosphere, perfect for various occasions. While the appetizers are decent, the Burnt Ends Quesadilla stands out, and the nachos are praised as some of the best. The restaurant caters to families, offering a variety of menu options, including pasta, mac and cheese, a turkey club, and stuffed chicken parm, making it a great choice for both adults and kids. Dining outside is also a pleasant experience. The kind and friendly staff create a positive impression, encouraging return visits. Parking is easy to find, and the desserts are delicious. Reservations are recommended to fully enjoy this American Bistro.
However, some recent reviews suggest that the food, while good, may not be exceptional, with some dishes lacking in meat. The noise level can also be quite high, particularly during busy times like Sunday brunch. Despite these minor drawbacks, the restaurant continues to receive positive feedback for its service, ambiance, and diverse menu offerings, which include the popular Asian Chicken Bowl and Farmer's Market Brunch Bowl.
