Today, I had a disappointing encounter with Jim's Pizza, a long-standing Belmont Street business. After over 40 years of operation, the restaurant has recently come under new management. I typically, head home for lunch or bring my own. But, I was at the right place today. Upon entering to order a wrap, I noticed a customer requesting financial assistance from the manager. Overhearing, the customer shared, he was down to his last $10.00 for the week and pleaded for food. He even offered to come back after pay-day. Unfortunately, his plea was rejected, I stepped in and offered to cover the full cost of his meal. I found the management's lack of empathy disheartening, given Jim's Pizza's reputation for kindness and generosity under its previous ownership. While I understand that business is business, I question whether this new management will maintain the same level of satisfaction as its predecessor. Personally, I will not be a customer again. We have to look out for one another!
