“Always great food, cooked to order, no microwaves! My all time favorite is their flagship sandwich, “The Commonwealth.” Piled high with freshly pulled pork, some pieces bigger than others, some with the delicious bark that defines great smoked pork. I love the optional cranberry habanero sauce on the side. Considering the sandwich has over a pound of pulled pork, plus a side ( I traditionally get fries, my wife likes the creamy Mac and cheese), not a bad deal for under $13 with tax.“

“Chicken wings are worth the review. Definitely the best around! Spiced great, Mild Buffalo sauce was actually mild. Had a great grill, Buffalo taste. Had a burger too, really good. The wings though are the main attraction here!“

The food at Smokehouse BBQ is so good! This is a regular go-to for me when I want hearty comfort food. The brisket is tender and juicy, the smokehouse stew is warm and filling, and the cornbread is sweet with the perfect texture. Highly recommended!!“

“My wife and I both had the beef tips cooked to perfection so tender and the onions and mushrooms in the gravy sauce only added to the taste of the tips. The brussel sprouts were marinated ànd roasted. What a unique flavor they had, soooo good. The restaurant was very busy and for good reason. The food the chefs prepare is Awesome. “Always a pleasure coming to visit for birthdays and special occasions. Food is always excellent and the staff is beyond friendly. Shout out to April for always saying to me and my partner. I will keep coming to this location, not only because of the awesome and great food- the lovely menu which I know by heart now- But the smiles, clean tables and silverware, good food for the price and the love and care the staff provides here. Hope to see you very soon for another birthday, wait staff is fantastic always. But I imagine chefs, bartending and management are just as pleasant. The mashed potatoes and firecracker chicken wraps- are forever a staple in our order. They’re always so kind with us- even when we ask for a couple appetizers to go home with! “Keeping in mind that this is a chain restaurant, everything was as it expected. The place was clean, the servers were friendly and attentive and the food was good. Sometimes I want to know exactly what I’m going to get and this didn’t disappoint.

We stopped here on the way back from business travel (from Logan) and it was right of the highway on 495. It was also far enough away that we were last the worst traffic.

This was a good choice for dinner. Not to mention that they are in a big plaza in case you have to pick up any other items.“

“First time I've been disappointed in terms of cuisine in a Texas Road House. I ordered a "rare" meat and it was overcooked. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and brought me another piece which was also overcooked! She apologized and they offered me the meal as compensation.. it's very commercial of them but I would have preferred to enjoy my meat and pay for my meal!

“I admit I typically stick with chain restaurants and "what I know" to avoid restaurant disappointment. I have been eyeing Axyl and Byrne since watching a Phantom Gourmet review. After reviewing a few less than stellar reviews, I hemmed and hawed about trying this place. The biggest regret I have honestly is not trying it sooner! Wow, where to begin. I started off with the boardwalk fries with pulled pork on top. The cheese was fantastic as well as the meat. My husband and I shared a platter with brisket (oh my god, best brisket I've tried thus far in life, jerk chicken, and pulled chicken. We tried for sides broccoli salad and potato salad both of which were delicious. I left so full.
Staff was accommodating and pleasant. Enjoyable atmosphere. Don't trust negative reviews without trying a place out yourself. If we know anything from society as a whole nowadays, is that difference of opinion is everywhere. Give these guys a shot! Amazing bbq!“
