My family and I love this spot and usually the food is very enjoyable, the owner is very kind but tonight the food was mediocre and lately the service has been subpar. We went to celebrate my brother’s graduation and our waitress treated us as if we were an inconvenience. We got a round of drinks to start and the waitress neglected our table for so long that when she finally ended up coming over the bar had closed, we were unable to get more drinks not to mention we also waited for about 30 minutes for some waters that were never refilled after arriving. She never came out to check how the food was or if we needed anything, she was more worried about chatting with her coworkers in the back rather than focusing on customer service and being attentive. To add it also was not busy at all. This place is usually one of our favorite spots but lately it’s been a very disappointing experience.

Obnoxious manger/owner maybe. Would not leave me alone about my choice of preparation, failed to explain the menu item to me correctly, written confusingly on all their menus and acted extremely judgmental of me (i just wanted a sauce removed). The service was exceptionally slow and the food is far from worth it. Never had chipotle enchiladas without the chipotle but they seemed to forget to even put it in. The poor waitress tried her best but I was just so irritated by the way the establishment is being run. Get that guy away from the customers 😒

We’ve visited Golden Jalapeños many times. The food is just so good, and such a great value. Some of the things coming out of the kitchen are stunning!
The owners are so friendly and unpretentious. Bonus: they have breakfast options late into the day. This is one of our most reliable restaurant options on the whole Cape!

Never mind the Fluffy Seagulls across the street, once you’re done there head to the Golden Jalapeño for some of the best and most authentic Mexican food you’ll find anywhere. The specials can be particularly surprising: tonight we had the lamb barbacoa, a special taco dish full of tender juicy slow-roasted lamb, and a locally caught tuna watermelon ceviche appetizer. A gentleman seated near us said he comes back regularly for the molcajete because it is the best he’s ever had. Be patient when you arrive, everything is made to order so it can take a moment, but enjoy one of their many creative cocktails and the homemade guacamole while you wait and you will be happy. The owner also makes a point to visit each table almost every night.

Ordered takeout 3 times, order was wrong every time. Today 5/5 took 2 1/2 hours to get tacos. Food is good, they have alcohol. Takeout service is abysmal, Golden jalapeno definitely earned this review. I will not be ordering again

Food is great. Lunch service too slow. Fresh food is great but too much time to serve guacamole app. And too much time before main course. Had to ask twice for beverages which arrived after app. Maybe dinner is faster.
P.s. food is really delicious. It seems that takeout orders slows down dining in orders.

We have been here a few times before and were expecting the same quality service and food. However, that was not the case for this time. Unfortunately service was slow and our drinks took almost twenty minutes when the restaurant was at a third capacity. We ordered nachos grande and asked for no jalapeños but found there were plenty on it halfway through. We also ordered some beef empanadas that were undercooked, greatly under seasoned (not even salt and pepper), oily, and lacked filling (less than a tablespoon of ground beef in them). Multiple staff members, including who we assumed was a manager or owner simply dismissed our critiques and acted like nothing was wrong.

The food was unexpectedly good. I have deep New Mexico roots, and didn't expect to find Mexican food this good in Cape Cod.

First time here! My wife and I are fussy Mexican food eaters/snobs after a 17 year stint in CA. We split a chicken burrito and the chicken tortilla soup - both were excellent. Draft beer would be nice, but the Modelo was cold and wet, so hey! Give it a shot (of tequila:)

Stopped in for takeout—owner was very friendly and added chips in as well. Food was delicious—got the mixed enchiladas, the pork was our favorite! Next time we’ll be back for dine-in!
