“The hospitality was the first thing we noticed. We needed a table for two and there was a young gentleman just having a coffee in a two person booth. He smilingly got up and offered a place.
We asked the waiter what he would suggest as we were not conversant with an Ethiopian menu.
Our dishes arrived with quite the flourish and each serving a huge injera with small rolls of injera as well.
One of our dishes has a really exotic spiced powder. Red pepper and anise all ground up with salt. This was sprinkled on our “dry dish”. Our waiter instructed us.
We finished with a beautiful “Ethiopian Coffee”. This was the smoothest coffee lightly spiced with allspice. It was delicious! Sweetened with a couple of the tiny spoonfuls of sugar. The coffee is served on a dainty pitcher and it is just addictive!!
It was a wonderful experience. We were the only non Ethiopian folks at table so the experience was as authentic as it could get. A really great experience. The price was completely reasonable.“
