Candy's Fried Chicken

Tonight my family and I finally tried Candy’s Chicken for the first time. It’s been on our list for a while — I’ve seen it come highly recommended on Reddit and in various local Facebook groups — and now I get why!

We ordered the Dinner for 4, and honestly, the chicken is incredible — way better than that dude in the white suit. This is hands down the best chicken dinner in the city. The fries, gravy, and buns were all great too, and we added a container of coleslaw on the side — even that was miles ahead of the glow-in-the-dark stuff you get at “the other place.”

I am beyond impressed with Candys chicken. They messed up my order but they made up for it like no other business has. They said only 10mins extra but gave me extra food and they were super friendly. This place rocks!

YIKES! BEAWARE! 251001 ordered From Henderson Hwy. While the skin was not greasy, the breading was BLAND… more like all purpose flour with no spices and extremely dry chicken. Perhaps there is an explanation. The lady forgot to add the secret spices? Well, I can now say I tried Candy’s Fried Chicken on Henderson and never again for that price!

Great place for a take out chicken meal.
I’ve been here several times and the food is always great.

Amazing food! Chicken is so tender and juicy, wasnt dry at all. The gentleman working was extremely nice. I work at Cabana pools right next to them and he brought me a tray of food after I wandered in when it was closed to buy some food for me and my boss. What a lovely little place! Definitely will be eating there more frequently and will reccomend to friends who are heading out of the city via henderson hwy.

They should update their menu on line $12 difference on a 4 piece. This place used to be better, tasteless coleslaw, greasy fries, chicken 3 out of 5

Always delicious chicken, I try to pick some up every time I'm in the area and I live an hour away. The staff are friendly, food is quick to come out and it looks clean or organized. There are some chairs and I think a table or two for eating in but take out is probably your best bet.

Parking lot is somewhat a disaster for bigger vehicles but that's something easy to deal with for such good food.

Can't wait to come back, the men on the field sure loved it last time!

I was not happy with the good it was dry and cold call to complain an I they said was well there not much we can do about it the server also said that there food has not changed in years we'll I'm sorry ti say I would not feed there food to a homeless person you spend hard earned money an get told sorry you had bad food but it's not there fault lol I guess they don't care about customer service

Went in right at opening time to order 7 piece, some sides and gravy. The man at the counter was rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. The lady in the kitchen was very friendly and nice.

Food came out within 1 minute, must have been in a warming rack or have been sitting for a while.

First impression was pretty good - like others have said in reviews, not greasy, decent quality chicken. Pieces were small and slightly underseasoned for my taste but that's okay. Had a few pieces for lunch then leftovers for dinner.

Then, overnight came the sickness. Food poisining like I've never had.. Chicken must have been sitting out for hours or possibly overnight.

Is this the best chicken in Winnipeg? Absolutely not, would only reccommend this place if you want to get sick (or reccommend to your enemies). First and only time I'll ever order from Candy's!
