Made a special trip to try out. Sadly the lunch buffet food was disappointing. A good but small selection of food, but everything that was fried was way overdone, blackened near to the point of burnt. Maybe it was recooked from a previous buffet because that is what it tasted like. Nice people, but uncomfortable chairs and hard to pull up to the table. Almost everyone tripped over the dirty rug beside the buffet table. Food here was not even close to our favourite Chinese restaurant, the now defunct Selkirk Chinese on Eveline. So sad it has closed. Will keep looking for someplace more to our liking.

Ordered takeout for a large group and on the phone the staff person assured me their fried rice dish was vegan, when we got home with the fried rice had a bunch of egg mixed in. Avoid this place like the plague if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Excellent Chinese food! Very good service. Ordered consume soup, Cantonese chowmein, sesame chicken and ginger beef. Everything had tons of flavour, enough garlic and the best ginger beef we’ve had in a while!

Tried Oakbank Chinese Restaurant for the first time tonight and it completely exceeded our expectations. The menu looks familiar at first glance, but the food was on a whole different level than what we’re used to seeing at most Chinese restaurants in Manitoba. Portion sizes were massive, everything tasted amazing, and even the breaded shrimp were loaded with shrimp instead of batter, which was a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff, great value for the price, and an overall awesome experience. We’ll definitely be back.
