“I may have to move to Oakbank, just for the sake of being closer to The Peppercorn Restaurant I haven’t been there since Dec and running so many errands today, I figured I deserved a break, and a rewarding lunch. Alex was my server today, friendly, congenial and downright best service I’ve ever had. She took good care of me and when I went to,pay, she already had my Expresso Chocolate Cheesecake all packed to go. Once home, I chopped off only a small chunk for a start and couldn’t eat any more. This is a 3 meal dessert, enough for 3 meals, wow. My appetizer arrived, hot and steamy. Dry breaded ribs. Seasoned with their special seasonings, , baked in the oven, and served up hot & tasty with lemon wedges. I make ribs at home, and they are the toughest ribs in the universe. This is why I go to The Peppercorn, they know what they are doing. Today I Ordered up the chicken finger lunch entree with soup. 5 large fingers, served up with honey dill sauce. Soup of the day was Mexican. OMG. Homemade right there, it comes steaming’ hot to my table. I inhaled it. Almost licked the bowl. I should have taken a bowl to go. I had it here in the fall and it was just as tasty, maybe even better. Hot, the way soup should be served. Why don’t other restaurants get it? You were meant to chase your passions Art on wall, not just decorative but supporting local artists……And it’s all for sale Flowers on each & every table, were REAL. No really, real. It’s winter, it’s -30F and this restaurant supports the local florist……..Stems & Roses for lovely floral arrangements on each & every table. And each table had a vase of a variety of alstmedia…? Carnations and a big fat beautiful rose. I almost fell over. My server Alex tells me that these roses from Oakbanks “Stems and Roses” stay beautiful for almost 2 weeks. That’s unheard of. The Peppercorn Restaurant is set in the middle, flanked by A Large banquet room in back, ready to cater your event, And a bar on the other side. They have it all. Plus some of the tastiest entrees in Manitoba. So, tell me, why don’t I see other Oakbank residents here? Is it too reasonably priced for you? You like to travel into Wpg. And pay a fortune for cardboard tasting food and bad service? Great! More room for my family! Owners Doug & Kristine are always in, available and hands on. Highly recommended, 10 of 10 stars. Going back next week.”

“Enjoyed an amazing meal here with my husband as an early Mother’s Day dinner. A unique and pleasant atmosphere with stellar service, meal and dessert. The beet chips were a heavenly starter! The pike and fish and chips were winners. Would definitely highly recommend. I am so glad my husband found this spot as it was so worth it. Walking through the village was serene and enjoyed a little shopping in the village as well. Loved the animal area as we were introduced to some goats and sheep! “Everything was solid, especially the food. The only thing I thought may have been slightly off was the decaf coffee. It tasted like it had been sitting a while but maybe it was just me. I only drink fresh at home and at work. If it has been sitting for over 20 minutes I dump it. I always recommend Pineridge Hollow whenever I talk about going there!”

Have since moved back near town and returned for the first time in years a few weeks ago, I can not stop thinking about the custard/pastry horns since then, and have stopped in an embarrassingly amount since. Brought one to work, my coworkers were so jealous had to stop in the next day to get a box of them!”

“Stopped in today for supper to take home. Ordered the only two Indian dishes she had available...butter chicken and lentils in a cream sauce, she also suggested rice, two samosas and nan bread. The East Indian lady said this was more than enough food for two people. When we got home between Ste Anne and Richer and opened the bag and saw these small round take out containers which could hold no more then two cups each. I then opened them. The rice container was 3/4 full and both the butter chicken and lentils were only half full. Maybe one cup of each The butter chicken was extremely salty. We can't eat it! The rice, lentils, samosas and nan was good, not great. Won't bother stopping in again.”

“Great little restaurant! Ordered the Tropic Thunder burger and it was super tasty. The restaurant was crazy busy because of the fall fair, but they were still able to get my meal to me in 10 Minutes.”

“Very nice location, especially if you live outside of Winnipeg, this is a nice option to get some matcha, close to home. They do have a fly issue in the summer, which should get addressed for this one!”

“I want to give props to Heather the manager. I did have a pizza mix up with my pizza order today. The problem didn’t fully get resolved but she did do the leg work. She looked into it. She fully probably expected to get yelled at by the customer. It was what it was. I know what I had ordered... but anyway, she was very pleasant to me and nice. I just want to say she was very professional about the situation. She will go far. Great customer service. I can tell she did look into the situation as far as her capabilities would allow and went the extra mile. Thank you Heather -Heidi (not Karen)”

“Everytime me and my spouse go out of the city, we never miss Half Moon Drive In on our way for for a burger dinner! Tje fries serving is huge and the burgers aren't salty! expect for long lines but bo crazy wait time at all.”
