We had one night in Winnipeg passing through on our way to Churchill. We struck gold finding Bistro on Notre Dame. What a great place. My wife is gluten and Dairy free and it was not a struggle to find several options she enjoyed. Even dessert. If you are in Winnipeg. Don’t miss Bistro on Notre Dame.

To-go order with two items. The first item was completely burnt. The second item was in a small cup that we thought was mistaken with someone else's side dish. Nope - that small cup was our whole main dish. Not only outrageously small for the price (considering these do not come with sides, how would you not be left hungry?), but it did not even seem to match the pictures.
I should note that at least the servers working there seemed really nice, and the atmosphere was good.

This place is unreal! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are amazing and the FOOD is incredible. It was so interesting and unique from anything else I have ever tried. The combination of flavours was genius. My husband feels the same way. Thank you so much for creating this food. We can tell that you love doing it. We are from Regina and will make sure to stop here every time we visit Winnipeg.

We had the lake and steak sharing platter, which had bison ribeye, smoked duck breast and pickerel. The sauces were excellent and the potatoes wonderful. The bison was tender — unusual in my experience — and flavourful. The duck was very, very good. The desserts are delicious. The space is comfortable and stylish, and the owner lovely. This is a rare gem and Winnipeg is very lucky to have it. Enjoy! They also cater.

This place had such a peaceful and enjoyable vibe. Polite, professional service, delicious food and drinks and beautiful music from the orchestra next door.

The food was very tasteful and exactly like they described, a fusion of Métis comfort food. The Bufloo Gaalet and Brisket + Hash were great. It was also the best bannock I have ever eaten.

Amazing!! I appreciate the locally sourced ingredients, to the unique twists put on their dishes. You must try the stinging nettle drink.
I am also very happy to support a local indigenous business. New favorite spot.

Had never been to this place before, but the Le Burger Week burger sounded really good. It didn't disappoint. A real great blend of locally sourced ingredients. I definitely want to return and try some more of the menu.
