Great place for authentic Japanese food options. The food here is so delicious and the portions are HUGE which the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is cute and decorated with dwarves. I recommend the Hiroshima Okomiyaki (savory japanese pancake) and their takoyaki (octopus balls)

I hope they are able to find a new location because I want to continue coming to this place. The ramen is so good.

The miso ramen and Nutella banana milkshake are delicious. The service was very friendly but a little slow.

Just had the tonkatsu ramen. Have had it many times before but this time it was 4/10. I know you are closing down but is this the reason to lower your standards?

Cute little restaurant in St Boniface. Based on the name, you'd never know that they served Japanese delicacies. They have excellent ramen! The decor is also super cute and unusual, and there's a neat little gift shop upstairs.

Delicious Japanese cuisine! They have a big menu and food you don’t see at other Japanese restaurants. It covers plenty of Japanese dishes you would try only in Japan. The owner was super nice and helpful! I wanted to try everything so it gives me an opportunity to go back! Prices are very fair too.

Been coming here since it opened, sad to see it close, especially in favour of condos. Hopefully you'll find a new location!

The food was so good I kept eating even though I was full already. I need to thank the chef for gracing this earth.
I got the items from the June special menu: Himmel’s Favourite Omelette and the Merker’s Milk Pudding. The omelette was so good and the portion was huge, definitely worth the price. The honey and milk pudding was so refreshing, I wanted to order another one.

Big giant kisses for each member of staff, even went to the gift shop upstairs to commemorate the food I ate.

Heiter’s favorite beer arrived in a giant mug, 5 stars for that alone. Service was kind and patient and food was timely and delicious.

Got the hamburg omurice and found everything about it to be dry, overcooked, and not tasty. Wasn't offered any drinks. Was only served water.

What an absolute GEM of a restaurant. I am visiting from Montreal for the week and have completely fallen in love with this place after only one visit. I'm so glad I'm here for a few more days because it means I'll get to go again ?

The best way I can describe this is a Japanese greasy spoon restaurant. People from Quebec will know what I mean. It's completely authentic and everything I tried was super well done. Winnipeg, you have something truly special here and I hope you know it. This Montrealer can only DREAM of having a restaurant like Dwarf no Cachette back home!

Edit: I want to say that I went back for the Ramen and thought it was ok. If I am honest, it left a little bit to be desired, but I can understand, as it's not this restaurant's main specialty. The other stuff I tried was incredible though and still cannot recommend this place enough if you're in Winnipeg!

Super friendly staff, delicious food everytime, sad to see it go at the end of the year. My favourite is the chicken katsu curry rice, and the yam tempura as an appetizer.
