Singyun Restaurant Reviews
Very good food, huge menu and friendly staff.
Singyun may be the only truly classic Chinese restaurant I’ve found in Winnipeg in 2026 — what a find. It has that wonderfully retro old school feel that I've been looking for, generous portions and exceptionally clean.
I’d happily suggest a little music upgrade to complete the atmosphere, but otherwise, this is more than just a cute little dine-in spot. There’s something genuinely inviting about it.
We appreciated this aesthetic -- go!
Our normal go to place was closed so we gave Singyun a try for a family diner and it was fantastic! We had an assorted dishes and all were very tasty and good amount. This will now be are “ go to place “ for Chinese food in St.B!

Singyun Restaurant is a highly recommended spot for delicious and authentic Chinese food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, including many vegetarian options, and the staff are accommodating to dietary restrictions. Orders are ready on time, and the food is always hot and fresh. The Fried rice is a standout dish, well-seasoned and full of flavor, and customers have praised the shrimp fried rice, noting it as delicious. The chow mein is recognized for its perfect balance of crisp and chewiness, while the deep-fried items, including deep-fried chicken with hot honey garlic, are noted for being golden, crispy, and soft without being greasy. The restaurant takes pride in its culinary craft, and with friendly delivery drivers and reasonable prices, Singyun has become a favorite among locals. One diner appreciated the dinner for 4 takeout option, praising the generous portion and good taste, although they mentioned that the Shanghai noodles used udon noodles instead. Customers have found the food to be fresh and different, avoiding the greasy taste of other places. While there have been minor issues with phone availability and dietary mistakes, the service is generally friendly and efficient, making Singyun a hidden gem worth visiting again. Additionally, diners can request to adjust the saltiness of their meals and enjoy a free fortune cookie.
