“My family has been going to Komodo restaurant for decades, 3 owners, same great food. So sad the buffet didn't come back after covid. Filled my plate with deep fried mushrooms many times. We still oder from them for family gatherings all these years later. Never let us down. Always ready on time. 4 stars for atmosphere because there's no dine in, so not really significant.“

Showed up between the scheduled pick up time and when I went to the counter I noticed the girl had not even submitted my order to the back kitchen. She hastily ran my order to the kitchen. “Went here for dinner on a Sunday, we were the only ones there mainly because it was really cold out, they do take out and delivery orders within 3 km which is pretty good. The restaurant is small but the food was really good, the reviews didn’t lie at all. We ordered the crispy fried chicken, sizzling seafood plate, chicken egg foo yung, Cantonese fried rice, deep fried breaded shrimp and the chow mein. Both the crispy fried chicken and chow mein were just a little bit more on the saltier side but it was still really delicious ! Would come definitely come back again.“

“Food is top notch for Chinese food in the city. Didn't cheap out for ingredients. Generous portions for the price. Yeung chow fried rice is a pass. It's not bad but I've had better elsewhere. Butter chicken is good but the raw onions was not appreciated by all. Sweet and sour pork is a recommend. Not too sweet or heavy sauce. Light batter. Highlight was the Shanghai noodles. Great wok hei.

Service is typical. But not unusual for a Chinese place. Waited quite a while for food but well worth it. This place is just packed for weekend. With constant takeout orders. No walk-ins at peak times. Need a reservation. Lots of tables jammed in a fair sized dining area. Can get noisy. Parking can be a challenge in their limited lot shared in a small plaza. Highly recommend for eat in or takeaway. 4.5.“

“If you're like me and love the fried foods from Chinese takeout then you cannot beat the lunch buffet. All you can eat for $15 is a steal now a days. Even if you're trying to eat gluten free, there's still the beef and mushroom which is great. Great value for your dollar.“

“A gem in the neighbourhood. An amazing hole in a wall family restaurant. Ever since I had them, I can’t stop going back. I’ve been back probably almost weekly this past month lol. Their broth for their soup dishes is delicious.

The one dish that surprised me and did not expect to like so much was the rice roll with the Chinese donut. Very unexpected but probably one of my favourite dishes of this place.

“Chicken was pounded out, breaded and deep fried. - Excellent! Light batter. Same chicken for both the garlic or the spicy combo. Sauce is basically sweet and sour. The spicy is the same sweet sauce with chili flakes.
You get some shred cabbage with some carrot. Rice is just with a touch of soy sauce. Nothing special. Just rounds out the necessary carbs for a full meal. Clear broth soup with wontons. Wontons were meaty too.

Food was made fast. It's a hole-in- the-wall by Tec-Voc. Decent seating. Old school furniture, decor and out dated. But who cares? People are willing to wait to get it. $10 + soup for lunch combo, where else can you find this in the city? It'll fill your dirty Chinese food craving. Recommend for lunch. Definitely return.“

“Delicious dim sum. Friendly staff. Still not open for dining, but they are planning to reopen sometime. We always get the beginner plate, which has shrunk over the years. However, it is a bargain at $7.80! Not a huge jump from $5 about 20 years ago. Next time we will add extra shrimp kow (used to be 4 in the beginner plate, but is 2 now).“

“This place is incredible. I've been looking for great Sichuan food for years, since my favorite place in Calgary shut down. Didn't expect to find it in Winnipeg.

The spicy pork noodles were fantastic. The green beans and the shredded potatoes with vinegar are a must. Highly recommend the eggplant as well.

The atmosphere matched most of the best restaurants I went to in China, which is that you're there for the food, not the decor. We were on the side by the kitchen so it wasn't fancy and was a little noisy. But it didn't matter because the food came fast and we were focused on how good it was.

They started to cut the pork so fine you can barely see it and absolutely not taste. Someone forgot to put in the salt. We appreciate them calling to double check when an online order is placed. It gets very busy so placing an order in advance is your best option but you might get lucky and they will try to squeeze you in! Friendly staff, full of regulars and always willing to accommodate special requests if they can! Only gave 3 for the atmosphere just because it can be crowded when waiting if there are a few orders but there is nothing wrong with atmosphere!“

“Ken's just has great food at good prices. It's not overly salty, nor is it overly sweet. Only downside about this place is that the area is sketchy and the parking is god awful. But if you can stomach that you're in for a real treat.“

“Waitress was absolutely nice gave me the full run down on hot pot food was delicious definitely will be back for more. Make your own dipping sauces cook your own meat vegetables. Broth pre made but there is quite abit to choose from I tried lamb was flavor full, the costume dipping sauce is where it's at different seasonings to choose and oils. Definitely a must try. Price range for me and my wife 101 with drinks I mean not bad some places I tried and spent the same amount so I can't really argue price range for the amount of food.“

We were then provided with very kind and friendly service, served hot and fresh consumme soup while we waited for our meals. I read reviews about small portion sizes but the servings we got were huge, I couldn't even finish. My husband finished the massive portion and is still talking about it the next day.
