Went here a few weeks ago on a 'treat yourself' kinda day. Food was great, ordered some takoyaki and pork katsu curry rice which is enough to fill you up the rest of the day. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is where it's lacking. But overall, love it.

Nestled in the heart of Winnipeg, Dwarf no Cachette is a hidden gem that promises an authentic Japanese dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a quaint yet inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable meal.On my recent visit, I indulged in two classic Japanese dishes: Takoyaki and Pork Katsu Curry, accompanied by a soothing cup of Green Tea.First up, the Takoyaki—crispy on the outside, yet delightfully soft and creamy on the inside, each morsel was bursting with the savory goodness of octopus and topped with a drizzle of tangy sauce and a sprinkle of bonito flakes. It was a perfect appetizer to whet the appetite.Next, the Pork Katsu Curry—a comforting symphony of flavors and textures. The crispy yet tender pork cutlet, smothered in a rich and aromatic curry sauce, was a true delight to the senses. Paired with steamed rice, it was a hearty and satisfying dish that left me craving for more. The service at Dwarf no Cachette was impeccable. The server was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was serene and clean, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant. In conclusion, Dwarf no Cachette exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the cozy ambiance to the exceptional service and, most importantly, the delectable food, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine in Winnipeg. I wholeheartedly recommend it and look forward to my next visit.

Went in for random dinner and waited 10mins to snag a table. Not bad for peak hrs. The server gave us their menu from the time he directed us to our seats. They've changed their menu but their price is reasonable. The food were rich in flavor and perfect for the weather. I would recommend to do some upgrades in regards with the store ambiance. Furnitures fixation, and decors as well. Photos were taken during my 2018 visit. No photos taken during our meal due to the hype of capacity.

Ramen was great! Takoyaki was cold in the middle, but he replaced them right away and they were great the second time around. The building itself is very unique and interesting. Food was priced very fairly. Oh and the coffee and jasmine tea were both excellent.

The Onigiri was so bad. Just terrible. No flavor. They were too big, and dry. The filling was terrible. How can you mess up tuna and mayo onigiri? The pork belly onigiri was even worse. You expect to get a nice little fatty piece of pork belly. Instead you get 0 fat, just straight hunks of meat that is so dry and chewy my kid thought it was revolting and wouldn’t eat it. My own onigiri is to die for. If I worked here I would improve many things in the menu. They definitely need help back there in that kitchen. Hire me if you want someone who knows how to make real Onigiri.

Food was good. Their friend chicken dishes are all very good. Some are very plain, with just chicken, rice, and green onion, so read the menu carefully or order a side of veggies and sauces as desired. Ramen is another good option here, one of my favorites in the city! The restaurant has a small shop on the second floor, so you can kill time waiting for your food by browsing their trinkets and art.

Did an order through Skip. The restaurant noticed that most of my order was vegetarian so they called me to let me know the broth I chose had meat in it and explained that they could change it to a vegetarian broth. Food was awesome too.

I came here on New years. It was one of the few places that was open. They have a vast menu with Japanese and pan Asian cuisine. I just ordered the tea. It was perfect and very hot. Loved how it was served in the tea pot and accompanying cup. The place seems warm and welcoming.
