We had our youngest celebrate her 18th in Pampanga and it was a blast, food was great, got good feedback from most of the guest. The hall was set-up to have large crowd and big space in the middle to get the entertaiment going. Most importantly the Pampanga's crew are all amazing and very accomodating.. 5 star all the way...

I know Pampanga is a Winnipeg institution for Filipinos. If you know Filipinos who grew in Winnipeg, there's a chance they've been to this place so many times because it's a popular and affordable venue for events like debuts, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. And honestly, having eaten their banquet food many times, I think it tastes good and better than Marigold which was another Winnipeg Filipino celebration destination.

I am writing to talk about their restaurant rather than the banquet venue.

They have a pretty affordable Filipino breakfast selection and have daily specials. Each time I've tried it, I am not a fan, I think, no matter what the protein source is. Tapsilog is our usual go-to and they do not do it well. The meat is pounded to oblivion until it's paper thin, and even then, it's cold and chewy. The garlic fried rice tastes like MSG with a hint of garlic. I am not an MSG hater by any means either, but it was a bit much as all you could taste is MSG. This was true for multiple occasions I've had breakfast here with family. I have also tried the fried chicken silog, tocino, longannisa, and beef pares silogs. The tocino and longannisa were probably the least offensive lol. The eggs are ok, nothing special. Each breakfast comes with a random soup of the day. Sometimes they serve a portion of nilaga (kind of like a bouille or broth that has meat and simmered with veggies) or sinigang (tamarind sour salty soup with meat). Both are kind of oily and salty on its own but is good with a side of rice.

On other occasions we have eaten at their Sunday brunch buffets. I think it is worth going to if you want to sample a bunch of Filipino dishes that you normally won't find in other places. I don't know if I could recommend bringing non-Filipinos or dining here without a Filipino friend (you need someone familiar with Filipino cuisine present) because there are no labels for what the food is and becomes a guessing game. My partner liked the goat stew, lol. I think they have stuff like caldareta, menudo, kare kare, sinigang, paksiw, ginisang gulay, etc. they also have the Filipino breakfast meats, fried ribs, fried chicken, and desserts in the form of fruits mainly. I forget, but it's a pretty big spread and selection. It is comparable to other buffet in the city. Price is also comparable to other buffet. It is around $21-25 per person. Coffee is not included and it is extra, something they don't outright tell you. Service during buffet time is hit or miss.

Ambiance and atmosphere I have to give it a 1. This place is really run down and has a hole in the wall vibe. Tables are dirty and the restaurant just doesn't feel clean. Chairs are so old and torn, sorely needing a replacement. There is TV in the background which can be noisy. It is also located in a very inconvenient place that can be hard to find, but is also in a not-so-safe area with unhoused people all over the place. I know people who have had their belongings stolen from their car at night, but that's just a given if you are anywhere in Winnipeg's downtown area and I do not attribute this to the restaurant specifically, but this is something to keep in mind. To my knowledge no weird activity has happened to people and their cars during the day.

In short. I recommend the Brunch Buffet on Sundays for a sampler of Filipino food that you normally won't find in mainstream Filipino restaurants (a lot of home cooking style), but would advise skipping the breakfast combos because there are so much better and comparatively priced Filipino breakfast options in Winnipeg.

Pampanga did an amazing job catering our 500+ person event! Ate Kelly is always friendly and she made me feel like I didn’t have to worry about anything because they took such good care of us from the order to delivery. The food came out hot and fresh and I received nothing but compliments on it from my guests (they especially loved the fried chicken and lumpia)! I highly recommend if you want delicious Filipino food in Winnipeg 🫶🏽

Our family always goes with pampanga for our catering needs, and everyone always has great things to say about their dishes, especially the caldereta and fried chicken. They are very easy to coordinate with, and we have only good things to say about them all. Thank you Kelly!

We had such a great time at Sunday brunch. The buffet had an amazing selection with plenty of options for the kids, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everything was delicious, and it made for such an easy, enjoyable family outing. We’ll definitely be back!

The food is absolutely amazing. The food was delivered and pick up hot and on time. Most of our events, Birthday, baby shower, wedding shower, social and lamay. we ordered to pampanga Resto. Kelly, kuya Dino and ate lordes and the whole team never disappoint us. Everyone is wasy to deal with. Specially beautiful kelly! Definitely recommend for any gathering! 💕

To be honest I was going to write a positive review before even going to this restaurant.
I’ve texted a reservation request a few days ago and the manager Kelly responded quickly and we had a lovely conversation once she find out that it is going to be our first time at her place.
It was so nice to talk to a real person which is quite rare these days.

My husband and I went there for the Easter brunch buffet. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and taken to a lovely table. Our server Sey (sorry if I misspelled the name) was very attentive, professional and personable. Other servers were also very friendly and polite.
We didn’t have much experience with the Filipino cuisine but the lady behind the buffet table was very helpful and happy to explain the dishes.

There were many choices and I try most of the dishes and I have to say that they all were delicious!
What really made me happy was the fact that the food was hot and a big bonus were the hot plates!
The price was only $24 per person because it was an Easter buffet. They serve buffet brunch every Sunday for only $20!
I highly recommend this restaurant!
