This is a gem in Winnipeg that I never even knew it existed.
This is the best overall dinning experience I’ve had in Winnipeg, the ambience, the food, the service. Everything was perfect. As a former chef I understand how hard it is to hold such high standards consistently. But The team at Sous knock it out of the park.

Sous Sol is a unique and intimate restaurant with a captivating ambiance, often described as having a speakeasy vibe combined with the eclectic style of the Addams Family. The cozy, candlelit atmosphere, complete with real tall candles and an assortment of tables and chairs, creates a perfect setting for special occasions. The service is praised for its attentiveness and helpfulness, making guests feel welcomed and comfortable. The menu offers an array of amazing flavors with standout dishes such as bone marrow, trout, and tenderloin. Customers have also enjoyed fresh oysters, beef tartare, asparagus, beets, house jam, and pork loin, which are all highly recommended. The restaurant is known for using fresh ingredients and delivering amazing flavors.
The atmosphere is cozy and the place itself is very nice. The Potatoes Dauphinoise were excellent, and the Boar Chop Dijonnaise was also quite good. The beef tartare was okay, though the portion felt smaller compared to other restaurants. The staff handled any issues well, with the waitress taking back a cold Filet Mignon immediately and the manager apologizing. The service is attentive and helpful, making guests feel welcomed and appreciated. Customers have also enjoyed creative cocktails, such as the "Elphaba" and "Galinda" drinks, served in a thoughtful and memorable way.
