I was looking for vegan food when I first arrived in Winnipeg and the person at the information desk at the airport recommended the Green & Grain. It's a small restaurant, located in a strip mall, that specializes in smoothies, wraps and salads. The person running it was very helpful in making me a customized salad with falafel that met my dietary needs for vegan and gluten-free. Best of all the salad was delicious! My husband also enjoyed his chicken veggie wrap. We enjoyed a pleasant conversation with our kind server about Winnipeg and life in general. It was a great experience!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: You can customize your wrap or salad to make them vegan and gluten-free and adjust them to any diet. I didn't ask, though, whether the smoothies can be vegan. The board said they were made with 1% cow's milk.Kid-friendliness: Laid-back atmosphere perfect for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: You could wheel on in with no problems.

Great little local restaurant. Ingredients are all fresh and the smoothies are delicious. Might need to wait a little bit longer for your food during peak lunch times but it's worth the wait.
