Delicious Italian ice. I missed this place when I lived in the south for the past six years. People there would love this.
This has nothing to do with Abingdon MD and everything to do with the corporate-wide Rita's ice cream product. My sampling is here in Lexington Park MD and the product is (I am sure) identical everywhere their stores are. 1) The prices are stupidly high. A small cone is over $5. Nothing they sell is under $5. They are literally operating on what the market will bear and the market is brain dead. One can buy a cheating size (less than 2 qts now) 'half gallon' of real ice cream that tastes far better than Rita's chemicals for less money !! 2) The product itself is a sick imitation of what we all called 'frozen custard' in the good old days. It is not as cold as regular soft serve ice cream or ordinary 'hard' ice cream. 3) Texture is slick and slimy as if it was all fat or who knows what. Impression is some chemical concoction. 4) Fairness in advertising: Many of my friends claim Rita's is the best thing they have ever tasted. That gives me severe eye rolls into the forehead and questions their sanity. I cannot think of any food product less attractive to my taste buds at a higher inflated price. Awful.

first time at this chain! This place was popular on a Saturday night with families in the parking lot and at the tables. Enjoyed the vanilla and chocolate custard swirl. Look forward to trying more on future visits.

They just reopened not too long ago and this was their free custard day. The line was to the street and down along side it, but they were efficient and like moved decently.We got our order and it was just as I remembered last year.
