We had early dinner today and it was fantastic. The crab cakes are definitely the largest we have seen. Absolutely 8 oz. Each of us ordered the double platter and could only eat 1/2 of 1. We now have multiple meals (may have to freeze one). The tossed salad was excellent and the fries were just what my husband ordered - extra crispy. Mary was our waitress and she was so personable, quick to serve us, always had a smile on her face. She was attentive and went out of her...read full review
Boxhill crabcakes are the best. The people there are always friendly, and they give prompt service.
The crab dip is amazing, big hunks of crab and so creamy! The seafood platter is so worth the price. The waitress Brooke is awesome and has such a great sense of humor, she was the best! The owner even came to the table to ask how things were. We live in Dundalk and it is so worth the drive. Oh and the deserts are so good too! Great prices, great staff and great atmosphere!

Box Hill Pizzeria and Crab Cakes in Abingdon, Maryland, is a long-time favorite for many, with customers returning for 15 to 20+ years. The restaurant is known for its customer friendly service and friendly staff, with servers described as very attentive, welcoming, and happy. The food comes out quick. The crabcakes are a standout, often called the best and holding 1st place. The 8 ounce crabcake is very good, moist, flavorful, and delicious, with a good texture and ratio of crab meat, though some found hunks of soggy bread filler. The broiled crabcake is also one of the best, big and full of crab and much flavor. The great romulade sauce is a highlight. For sides, the coleslaw and sauce may not be for everyone, and the french fries are shoestring style, though some prefer the thicker fries from the past. Beyond crabcakes, the pizza is a go-to, especially hot fresh out of the oven. The cheesesteaks are super big and stuffed, and the subs and open-faced sandwiches are very good, with the roast beef recommended over the turkey. The delicious fried chicken is a definitely-filling meal, and the desserts are yummy. The seating can get a bit cramped, but takeout is available.
