Miss Shirley's Cafe in Annapolis offers a great breakfast and brunch experience with good food and service. The atmosphere is nice, warm, and inviting, located in a convenient part of town. Menu highlights include pancakes, skillets, biscuits, grits, and the amazing pineapple pancakes or upside-down pineapple pancakes, which are fluffy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. Some found the fried green tomatoes well done but needing salt, and the Gravy Train dish tasty but bland, with undetectable Cajun seasoning. The iced tea was noted as expensive. Service exceeded expectations at times, with attentive waiters, though some found it efficient but lacking charisma. The food and service are good and consistent at both the Annapolis and Baltimore locations. Can't go wrong with anything on the brunch menu. It is a spot worth trying, honoring Ms. Shirley's memory well, though some would not hurry back.
