We went for dinner on Saturday night. The food, ambience, and staff were amazing. There is off-street parking nearby (90 second walk).

Azumi was a decent experience. The sushi was slightly fishy and the miso soup was lukewarm. The dessert, however, was delicious and we had a great time celebrating a birthday. Service was decent, they didn't explain anything about the menu and it was often difficult to flag them down if we needed additional assistance. I appreciated that people came by regularly to fill our drinks.

This was my second time attempting to dine at this restaurant. On both occasions, I made a reservation and requested a booth for comfort. especially for a date night. On my first visit several months ago, they were unable to honor the booth request and tried to seat us at a very small, tight table. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Fast-forward to yesterday, January 16, 2026—we decided to give it another try. Again, our booth request was not accommodated. When we raised the concern, the staff tried to seat us at a small table, which was not suitable for one guest in our party who is 6'5”. When we asked how long it would be to get a booth, we were told 45–50 minutes, which suggests the restaurant is not properly planning for reservations. We ultimately found seating in the bar area, which worked for our party. The food, however, was enjoyable. For appetizers, we had lamb chops and a king crab sushi roll—both were flavorful and delicious, with the king crab roll offering a satisfying crunch. For entrees, we tried two fried rice dishes: Wagyu with hot sauce on the side and chicken with the sauce served traditionally. Surprisingly, the chicken fried rice was our favorite, with a nice balance of heat and sweetness, from the hot sauce. The Wagyu was slightly overcooked, though still a good dish. Drinks were solid—Cabernet and a whiskey with cranberry juice. Service in the bar area was excellent. The servers were attentive, welcoming, and checked in regularly throughout the evening. Special mention to the three gentlemen primarily working that section—they provided great service. Would I return? The restaurant is fine for a casual outing or a drinks-and-bites night at the bar, but I found it somewhat overrated. The food is good but not exceptional enough to crave, and the handling of reservations is a consistent downside. With better planning for seating requests, this could easily be a stronger experience.

First went to the bar for cocktails and while there wasn't an overwhelming amount of people waiting, it took us quite a bit of time before they took our order and then quite a bit of time to get our drinks and then we had to ask for the bill before ever getting acknowledged again. The drinks were just OK. As for the sushi... It was so disappointing. The eel was served almost chilled which I have never had happened before and the eel sauce was very limited, my husband ordered a bowl with sashimi on top and it was a little reminiscent of a Poké bowl that had no flavor ... no sauces... no seasonings just rice and pieces of fish on top with radishes for garnish. No flavor. Also something interesting with the sushi is the rice did not stick together making it almost impossible to eat without making a mess and losing half the rice in the soy sauce when dipping. The price did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress, however, was amazing and very attentive although another strange thing is that our food was not served at the same time. Two meals came out together and one came out later.

We went on NYE, so obviously it was loud and crowded. Servers were stretched thin. Azumi is already expensive so it was not a surprise when the bill for us for 2 people was well over $250, but the many add on taxes and 20% tip was a lot to justify. The food is ok. The nigiri ordered was the best of it all. The dessert was good-a matcha tiramisu. We stepped right outside at 12mn and watched the fireworks-would have been nice if Azumi gave out hats and noisemakers like other restaurants in the area.

If looking for a sophisticated, relaxing sushi restaurant this is not it. High music volume, especially when seated close to the bar, makes conversations difficult. The sushi was fine, nothing particularly special. The highlight was our server, who was attentive and accommodated our table change request. Also a fun location on the waterfront.

Azumi was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The drinks were excellent, perfectly made, and really elevated the whole experience. The music was amazing and loud, creating a fun, energetic atmosphere that made the night even better. On top of it all, the service was exceptional—every staff member was perfect, attentive, and welcoming.

Azumi has the best Japanese cuisine in town and ...beyond! We dine there often and we enjoy the experience every single time. Drinks are offered to perfection and the service, although recently it seems to be rotating people often, is always great. Fabrizzio was very attentive and polite! We'll back soon!

Overall I enjoyed my experience at the restaurant. Everything was tasty! I wish the portion sizes were slightly bigger but I would definitely return if I was in the area!

We’ve had lots of sushi and sashimi in lots of places and this was amazing. Our server, Valeria, was so charming and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend.

Note that my review was for takeout only - but the audacity of this place to charge what they do for honestly the most mid sushi rolls I've ever had. $16 for an avocado roll that wasnt even properly rolled and with stale old sushi rice? Crazy! Nothing special to go here. Maybe the atmosphere is worth charging out the roof? I won't be back to find out.
