Had their food at the waverly market. They charged me 10$ for a mushroom and grits that was literally like five bites. This tiny container was half full. Waited 20 minutes and got so little food it’s ridiculous. Wish I took a pic when it was full. No one but a child could get even remotely close to full on this. A big rip off, would not go again and would recommend people avoid the waverly market stand for this place.

Sometimes it’s a hit, sometimes it’s a miss.Their biscuit sandwiches are the bomb 75% of the time. My last few visits, I was very disappointed. The quality of their food has gone down & the prices has gone up. Couple of my orders were served cold or either too greasy. The Customer service isn’t always that friendly neither.Parking: Your lucky if you find a park, the Restaurant Location sits in the middle of the block on 29th street

Some of the best food in the city! I always look forward to Saturday morning biscuit sandwiches and they catered my wedding party. They were awesome to work with and the food of course was incredible and went so fast!

My cousin was adamant about getting here because they operate on a 2 day schedule. She ordered us a few biscuit sandwiches. We ate in the car because we were on the move that day. It's a small setting, was clean inside, service was decent. The biscuits were delightful. Soft, buttery, crumbly, moist. Fresh to order. We had some steak, some bbq lamb and a sweet chicken type. I tried every single one and could not stop the expressive ooooohhhss and yummies from coming out my mouth between bites. The steak was savory and slightly overdone for me but very good with the egg and biscuit. Bbq Lamb was the most interesting pairing well in a breakfast sandwich. I would have never thought to put lamb in breakfast. The chicken was good with some type of sweet sauce on it that was good on the biscuit alone.

Nom, nom. Their fried chicken with honey is one of the best that I have had. I tried their mushroom étouffée today. They did the thing with that too! I am glad that they offer ordering ahead, makes for a much more efficient experience. And, they are really nice people. Don't you just love that?

Food was just not good. The food was extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity given. I was highly disappointed. The service was also very slow, almost nonexistent. I will not patronize this establishment again.

This was one of my go to spots during the pandemic and they still keep the biscuit sandwiches flowing! Flavors for all pallettes.

Let's get into it!!!!! Ooooo weeeee!!! Blacksauce Kitchen is the truth. The menu changes daily so let's get into Thursdays (Aug 17th) menu choices. We ordered 1 of everything left on the menu: Oxtail biscuit, doubles, mac, cabbage, cobbler, fritters, sorrel and limeade. We stayed inside the restaurant to make sure we tasted everything fresh and hot. They have one table and a bar top with stools for dining in.10/10 my favorite was the cabbage. Perfect seasoning, heat, cook - no complaints whatsoever. I could eat a pot full.9/10 my second favorite was the oxtail biscuit. The picture below speaks for itself. Ghr biscuit was PERFECTION!! I could've used some kind of sauce or wetness on the oxtail. The fried onions were on point.8.5/10 the fritters were great. The each chow chow gave it that extra edge. Because it was served in a recyclable container all the chose chow juices were absorbed in the container. J think it should be served in plastic. Or foil placed in the container.7/10 the Mac was good. 8/10 Sorrel was great. We actually created a half and half of sorrel and limeade and that was fire 10/10. The doubles were good but could've been cooked longer. The only thing we weren't fans of was the smoked cobbler. Wag too much smoke for my taste. The smokey flavor overwhelmed the cobbler. Most definitely going back to hit another menu soon!!

I look forward to Saturday mornings for these delicious biscuits! Cool spot, great service, amazing food. Solid vegetarian options that show just as much thoughtfulness and intention as the rest of the menu.
