I haven't been to the cafe, but I am a kitchen nightmares nut, and I am particularly fond of the Cafe Hon episode for some reason (perhaps a shared love of pink? I don't know.) I really wish I could have gone, so this review is for everyone who worked here and gave their time and passion to this place, because out of all the places I've watched, from this one I can feel it. My way of saying, god bless you all and I hope the sun shines brighter than ever for you all!All of the love-- a fan.

We saw many good reviews about this place so we were expecting the same. Music was fun, atmosphere was cozy but the food was just adequate. From the time we ordered it took an hour and a half to get our food. The waitress seemed to be swamped and not have time to check in on us.Outdoor seating: No

My husband and I love the food here . The chili is spicy , heavenly . The chicken salad , ReubenFrench fries are outstanding . The owner is quite friendly and talks to us often . The cakes are great , just wish they had more often . We hope they stay open !! If you have to wait for a table , wait !! It is worth it !!

There were only a few tables available in the bar area. So we were lucky to get a table. I enjoyed my pancakes and the coffee was delicious. The Raven's game was on and the people there were cheerful.

I just watched this episode on kitchen nightmares, although I have never been here; the way in which Denise changed her attitude truly showed she is committed to her restaurant which is her baby. I work in the service industry which is absolutely challenging in these times. There have been times where I have definitely not given 100% of the best service due to being overwhelmed, stressed out and understaffed. Keep being a rock star and I hope to eat your food one day!! Sending you love and success from Indy ❤️

5 stars for standing up to the bully Maureen. Anyone working customer-facing jobs understands that there are customers who expect us to put up with a barrage of verbal abuse and talking down to, just because we are at work. This has gotten ×10 times worse in the pandemic. And as Maureen proved - the most disrespectful have the most fragile of egos; even when they initiate it. Keep on keeping on. And congrats on 30 years !

Despite the bad press in recent years, I loved the place. They are a major contributing factor in making the parade happen and a Hamden staple. I left early and forgot my wife's laptop. It was there the next day. This is a kind and loving crowd of patrons too!

So the crab dip was frickin delish. Good quality crab, sweet, chunky, not too much cream cheese or mayo. The fritz sandwich was okay. Good bacon, but chicken salad was nothing special. Tasted fresh at least. The fries are skinny. Pretty good fries. The special sauce wasn't well balanced. Too flavorful, I think too much lemon and garlic. Made me kinda sick. The honey mustard my girlfriend loved but somehow I thought it tasted like sherbet lol. Anyways, would come back for the crab dip and try some other entrees.

Ohh the mushroom Swiss impossible burger was delicious and the home fries. Would definitely like to try other dishes here.

Our experience at The Hon was so atrocious and insulting last night that I have to leave this review to shed light on their terrible customer service. If you’re thinking about eating here, don’t.My Fiancé and our four children (13, 6, 1.5 and 4 months) called ahead for seating. We were told there was no wait and to come in. Five minutes later we walked into the restaurant and waited for the hostess. After a wait we were approached by an older woman who immediately stated there was a 30 minute wait in a room full of open tables. I then let her know that we had called ahead and had a reservation for six, she retorted that a table for eight (who was not there) had already called and it’s a 30 minute wait. Now, there were only two families in the entire dining side of the restaurant and multiple tables with availability for 6+.When I told her that I had spoken with a gentleman, she told me I hadn’t because she had been answering the phone all night. I ensured I had the right number and she said “Oh, you must have spoken to someone on the other side. As you know there still a pandemic going on and I only have three employees”.I encouraged her moving forward that this could’ve been prevented with better communication between each side of the house, to which she replied “Well, if you would like a job you can put an application.”Her entire demeanor was condescending and pretentious. On top of calling me a liar saying I hadn’t talked to anyone, and then telling me to get a job there - I was completely floored by her obvious lack of professionalism and rudeness. We will never come back to this establishment, and I advise anyone considering going not to. No food is worth awful customer service.

Never been here but adding this review to help offset childish reviews added by bholes. Glad to see you are still open and will definitely stop by if I'm ever on the east side. Love from Las Vegas
