The egg rolls and crab wontons appetizers were nostalgic, the wontons were very fresh, and the sesame honey chicken was very tender and the sauce was great.

The place itself is a home in the wall and it makes me seriously question their health standards with the entire kitchen and back out of sight. The food was bland and overpriced...16 dollars for vegetable fried rice. No corn no cabbage no bamboo shoots...I won't be buying from here again.

If it's supposed to be bland corn-starchy Americanized Chinese-inspired food, then maybe I would give 2 stars, but yeesh... I ordered Gen. Tso's chicken and it was just drowning in globs of congealed, flavorless brown sauce. I made it through 2 pieces of hammered broccoli and one chunk of chicken breast. This meal was rough. Just not good or even okay.

I keep hoping that I will find a decent Chinese place in Baltimore but, alas, I must keep looking. Kung Pao Chicken (hot) had zero - and I mean zero - flavor (just a bland, spicy mouthful), had very few peanuts, no celery, and some odd ingredients like water chestnuts and what might've been bamboo shoots. Shrimp egg rolls had an odd sweet flavor to them.

Noticeably kind people. I ordered the “Four Treasure”, a chefs suggestion dish with a combination of meats and variety of veggies in a spicy black bean sauce. It was really delicious and the ingredients were super fresh. You can they put extra care into the food, both the egg rolls and crab wontons were also delightful appetizers that had a homemade touch. I’ll certainly be adding Chow Mein Charlie to my rotation of great takeout spots here in Baltimore.

Great spot! Very nice folks and the food tasted so much fresher than other places I’ve tried in the area. Stoked to find this place!

My new favorite Chinese spot! Got the sesame honey chicken. The chicken was tender and not breaded (which I found refreshing) the sauce was excellent, the fried rice tasted homemade, and tons of broccoli, which tasted fresh. The spring rolls were perfectly flaky. My wife got the black bean combo and liked it as well. The egg rolls had a handmade taste to them too. We have been searching for a good local Chinese spot and we just found our new home.

I called to tell them I was not satisfied with my plain yak however when the lady answered the phone, she translated to the cook then she acted like she didn't understand what I was saying. It was absolutely disgusting. I tried to get my order replaced and on money back of course I didn't happen the chicken and fries were good and the orange chicken was good as well however I wasted $10 on a meal that I didn't even eat

A true family owned restaurant with great Chinese food. If you are looking for real pieces of chicken when ordering Chinese, this place is it! I loved it and will definitely be back.

Absolutely love this place. Definition of a family owned, neighborhood spot where you know the love they put into the food. This place has been around for a long time and there’s a reason why! The sweet and sour chicken dinner combination is the fav and the spring rolls are delicious. Absolutely recommend!

I really hate when I try a new place and the food is trash! I don’t know what the taste buds are giving for the people in this community but none of the Chinese food places have good food! This one is the worst! I ordered general tso’s chicken with pork fried rice! I was given barbecue chicken and dirty fried rice! It’s literally a chopped chicken breast with barbecue sauce! I absolutely hate gristle on chicken and this is disgusting! No flavor besides bbq sauce! Wth is this! I asked for spicy it’s not even spicy. Then I was charged $2 more for pork fried rice! I’m afraid to even eat the rice it looks dirty not fried! Like it was left over and reheated, definitely not fresh! I have never seen general tso’s chicken like this without breading! If I wanted bbq chicken I could have made it myself! I can’t believe this place is even open! The chicken isn’t even grilled it’s baked! This will teach me to stop forgetting my lunch at home! The woman who works there was nice and pleasant, that was the only good part.

It's a carry out Hunan-Szechuan food. Moved around the area, looking for Asian food, and this place fulfilled my expectations: good food, fresh, good portions, and good prices. Overall, owners serve you with warmth smiles (very important to me). It's the second nice place of Asian food around my area. Very satisfied every time with the different dishes.

My favorite place in Baltimore for carry out! Chow Mein Charlie is a cute lil mom and pop place, and you can take a nice walk around the neighborhood (there's a lot of trees and cool architecture in the area) while you wait for your food. CMC is run by the sweetest couple, and the food is delicious!
