Amazing bagel sandwich with crisp bacon and a perfectly cooked egg with a jammy yolk. Iced coffee was fine but unmemorable. S’mores cookie is a 10/10. One star knocked off because it’s very a cramped space and layout, but understood given the building.

Came for breakfast. The Hampden sandwich I had was very good. I didn't choose to tip, as there was no wait staff and I cleaned the crumbs off on my own table, but it was my no means in bad shape. The place was very nice. I would have liked to have eaten outside if it were a few degrees warmer. I discovered that their outside seating becomes exposed to son a little bit before noon (at least this time of year). So I will keep them in mind for lunch time.

I listened carefully for my name to be called but never heard it. I heard others names loud and clearly. I went to check and my order was there. Is it because I didn't tip or maybe it wasn't connected to that at all. Perhaps the person was distracted, or just not nearly as loud or committed or communicative as the worker who was making names clearly audible when called. Some things just aren't connected but you can't help but Wonder.

After reading about the history of this place and how it became to be owned by its unionized staff after being closed by the owner, I like this place even more. It's patrons were decently diverse. More so than many other places in the area

Not only my favorite café in Baltimore but my favorite café anywhere. The lattes are amazing and the staff are always friendly. They also have an incredible selection of pastries (the cruffins are life changing) and their sausage egg and cheese is amazing (my North-Jersey-raised girlfriend says they’re the best she’s found in Maryland in the three years she’s been here)
Large patio so you can sit outside on nice days and people watch. Cozy interior with local art that you can buy. What’s not to love?

I used to go to Common Ground multiple times a week with my Dad when I was a kid, but I hadn't been back since even before the start of the pandemic. I revisited for the first time two days ago, and it was just as amazing as I remember! The food and coffee was super good, and the atmosphere is really cozy. I had forgotten how good their muffins are; the chocolate chip one I had was delicious. The new location is much more spacious and is very nice. I'm really glad Common Ground has been able to stick around so long!

I don’t understand why something that worked well at the old location has been completely abandoned for inefficiency. Previously, you could look at the muffins while ordering, order drip coffee, and have all of those grab and go items handed to you- allowing staff to focus on preparing foods that take a little longer (eggs, toasting, etc). Now anything you order requires a ticket and files into a cue regardless of its simplicity. The result is frustrated people needlessly waiting. Every single time I am at Common Ground, someone else is upset, regardless of how busy it is. And it’s an easy fix.

It is okay in my opinion. Nothing really unique. Typical college cafe.

I had a matcha latte and cupcake.

It was one of the worst matcha latte I have ever had. Other than it was green, there was nothing in the drink that shows it has matcha in it. The taste was just milk with barely any scent of matcha.

Cupcake was good. Very sweet and chocolaty, but I kinda expected that.

Cupcake was 5 dollars, and matcha latte was just a little less than 5 dollars.

Vibe is pretty casual. They have a sofa to give a little cozy relaxing vibe. There is also an outdoor patio.

I don't think I will come here for matcha latte, but maybe they are better at coffee and other pastries.

Parking: Hard to find a parking on the weekend.

Always delicious, always friendly, always rocking some cool tunes in the background!

My favorites are the nova on an everything bagel, and the bacon egg and cheese on a buttermilk biscuit; but I've never had something I didn't like here.

Chaotic atmosphere. People go there for the whatever vibe it has. I had maybe two drinks and matchas that were okay, the rest sucked. Honestly, instant coffee and matcha made at home are so much better. The workers are apathetic and disorganized. There was no apology when my drink was wrong and I had to go and ask if they were making it again since they literally forgot as I stood there and waited. If you want to wait 20 minutes for a mediocre drink and people who treat you like less than a customer, this is your spot. I tipped and I wish I didn’t.
