Such a cool vibe.
Nice vibes
Great vibes, nice selection, and a friendly support dog made the whole experience wonderful. A surprising amount of seating was available and the whole place managed to impress. I’ll definitely be back to try the Cubano, but the Turkey Jive was incredible!
I am so glad this place popped up on my maps when I searched for “bakery”. After reading reviews and looking at the photos, I told my boyfriend that if we visit this place, I’ll just be jealous we don’t have something like this back home (in NYC, nonetheless).
And I was right - I walked into the storefront and found things I wanted, and hadn’t even made it five feet in.
You can sense that the market items were selected on purpose; Sylva knew the origin story of each brand and what they’re known for. We picked up a salted caramel pandan syrup, and two different hot sauces.
For the cooked food - we devoured a ham and cheese croissant, and an apple and cheese pastry (that I still think about today). We also got a chicken meat pie for later and it was delicious - lots of flavor.
This is a place I could spend a few hours in and move from breakfast to lunch to early cocktail and dinner.
We are planning another weekend trip to Baltimore and can’t wait to come back.
Best sandwich in Baltimore, hands down. This place is a MUST if you’re in the area, and even if you’re not honestly. Ingredients are fresh and recipes are thoughtfully and creatively prepared. I had the brisket roast beef sandwich which came on a plate with fresh sweet berries and chips. I’m going to dream about that sandwich until I can have it again. Owner Rob was incredibly kind and personable as well. We enjoyed walking around the shop and found a lot of really cool grocery items to buy like salty pistachio spread and lavender honey hazelnut butter.
It was a delightful and delectable experience all around! We’ll be back ASAP.
The bakery is the best, have a drink in the garden out back.
Go blue!
Culinary Architecture is a hidden gem in Pigtown! Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible, and the coffee is even better—by far the best iced mocha latte I've had in Baltimore. The back open-air patio is absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect spot to sit, relax, and enjoy your meal and coffee. It's also a great little market, and you can really tell the difference in quality with the owners being French-trained culinary chefs. Highly recommend stopping by for breakfast or just a cup of coffee—you won’t be disappointed!
We came here years ago as grad students and Culinary Architecture was incredible then; it’s only gotten better! The owner is so nice and makes the best recommendations. Always clean, always interesting stuff.
Such a treasure. Food is always excellent and flavorful. The owners are fabulous. Run don’t walk to the gem.

A culinary market gem in Pigtown. The standouts on this visit was the Cuban pineapple cake and the very thoughtful and thorough service. We were the only people in the garden and they visited us not fewer than four times to make sure we were doing well and to see if we needed anything. The shop alone is good enough to visit but the staff added an exemplary experience.
I took home some meat pies and a caramelized onion hot dog to have with some salad for dinner. It was great as always. Looking forward to the next time.
Lovely little neighborhood (we love Pigtown!) market. Nice selection of specialty groceries. Wonderful sweet and savory pastries and other freshly baked treats. Hot and iced coffees drinks to enjoy in the pretty outdoor seating area or togo.
I just had one of the best handmade croissants I have ever had in my life. This market churns out some of the best pastries in the city. Ovenbird could never…
We used Culinary Architecture for our wedding. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch and the price was reasonable. Sylva the owner was easy to get ahold of, and helpful in regard to the entire process.
