Disappointing Decline
It is just sad that I have to do this but here we go..... the significant decline in service, food quality, and overall experience at Judy's Island Grill Canton. This once-beloved Baltimore institution was a staple for us, and we'd drive from Washington DC twice a month, spending around $250 each time.
Unfortunately, our recent visits have been a letdown. The service has deteriorated significantly, with unfriendly and inattentive staff. The food, which was once a highlight, is now disgusting. To add insult to injury, prices have increased, and portion sizes have decreased.
We used to look forward to visiting Judy's Island Grill Canton, but now we're not sure what's going on. The combination of poor service, subpar food, and increased prices has made it clear that this restaurant is no longer worth our time or money.
A Final Farewell
We're sad to say that we'll never be back. Judy's Island Grill Canton has lost two loyal customers due to its failure to maintain the standards that made it a beloved destination. We hope that the management will take our feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to restore the restaurant's former glory.

Disappointing Experience at Judy's Island Grill Canton
High prices - Steep prices that don't justify the cost.
Subpar food quality, stale, overcooked, and flavorless dishes with small portion sizes.
Disappointing experience A significant decline in food quality and service.
Formerly a top-notch destination, the restaurant was once beloved for its delicious food and exceptional service.
Management needs to reassess their approach and revisit recipes, cooking techniques, and customer service standards to restore the restaurant's former glory.

Today Sunday -I ordered a fired chicken meal whit meat and a side of Mac and cheese I would not recommend to eat from this restaurant the fried chicken was undercooked and rice and peas was undercooked and the Mac and cheese was not baked Mac and cheese it was 100% Stouffer’s and overall the customer service was horrible. As soon as I started to eat my food and realized that the food was undercooked I called the restaurant and they were rude and wouldn’t give me an refund I was willing to give them the food back but they refused to give me a refund don’t waste your time at this establishment the canton location or the glen burnie location. I also think I got food poisoning from there restaurant for the meat being undercooked I had to go to the hospital.

Our experience started when we noticed the table wasn't clean, sticky.
The jerk chicken was OK, but the sides were horrible. The dumplings were little hockey pucks, bland and hard, the plantains cold, and the yam was bad. None of the sides were as described in the menu. Sorry we went.
Nice waitress.

absolutely no!! i always order from judy’s and when i went the jerk sauce was just like bbq sauce, the mac was disgusting and the white meat chicken was bland and they didn’t even toss it in sauce. i’m very dissatisfied also this mac and cheese is not baked!!!!
The food was perfectly acceptable, offering a pleasant dining experience. Our server, juggling both bar and table service, managed admirably despite the obvious pressure. She was attentive and efficient, ensuring our needs were met. It was clear she was working hard to keep everything running smoothly. Overall, a decent meal with commendable service.

First and last time here. I had a huge order which included Jerk Chicken. The chicken pieces didn’t resemble any parts of dark meat I've ever had. The Jerk sauce tasted like it was mixed with BBQ sauce. The rice and peas were over cooked. The Plantain was very dark and dry. The Cabbage taste like it was cooked in butter. I didn’t finish the food. I’ve had Caribbean food before; nothing authentic about this. My stomach is upset! This was a total waste of $95 plus gas coming to pick up the order. 👎 Do yourself a favor find a true Caribbean spot!
I ordered the brown stew chicken, rice, plantains and coco bread for takeout. I was highly disappointed. The rice was mushy and tasted old. The chicken didn’t taste like brown stew chicken. It wasn’t even hot. The coco bread tasted old and dry not moist at all. I never seen coco bread crumble into small pieces. I have ordered food from Judy’s before at the canton location on a Friday night and the food was great. I’m not sure if the cooks are different on weekdays but this is the second time I have been disappointed. I will not be ordering again.

Around 9 PM, we ordered brown stew with white rice, beef stew with rice and peas, coco bread, and a curry patty. The stews were overly watery; the white rice was well-cooked, but the rice and peas were also quite soupy. The coco bread had an unappetizing gooey texture. Despite this experience, I can’t recommend this place to anyone. It's a franchise, and the chicken stew resembled more of a sweet southern-style dish rather than authentic Jamaican. My boyfriend found his beef stew excessively salty and devoid of genuine Jamaican spices. We reached out to the owner because I became nauseas n vomited while eating, and my boyfriend also experienced stomach issues. She replied that no one else complained, insisting that the food was fresh and acceptable.

Went to Judy's based on reviews...order oxtails(x2), jerk chicken, Rasta Pasta(oxtail) , jerk salmon, island fried wings, spicy beef patties (x2) and jerk chicken patties (x2). Food was just ok. Prices are steep for food that's just ok. Wouldn't go back

Welp, can't give any stars on food, service, or give stars on how much was spent because I didn't get to order any food. I didn't get any service, therefore couldn't spend any money, & essentially ended up going to Papi's Cuisine. For a Sunday afternoon, I expect any downtown Baltimore restaurant to be busy or overwhelmed. With that being said, I'm not sure what was going on with management or lack of staffing because the bartender seemed to be left to tend the restaurant by himself. It was a sad sight to see. The only thing he didn't seem to have to do was cook food. My friend and I tried to wait patiently, as it was clear the bartender was beyond overwhelemed trying to tend the bar and surrounding tables, but my guy was completely out of his element as it appears. It took over 25 minutes before we were acknowledged or received menus. Another 15 minutes or so before being asked what we want to drink. I asked for a mojito, but was told he didn't have lime. I asked for a rum punch, he said he couldn't make that either. He was pulled at every direction, that being guests seated at surrounding tables & bar patrons, not remembering what people ordered when trying to cash out checks, people having to walk up to the bar from tables to cash out or order drinks, it was just a hot mess and was clear after 45 minutes, we were not going to receive service until this morning probably had we kept sitting there. Overall, my message is to management.....What was that yesterday?! I'm trying to extend grace, as I don't know what was was going on behind the scenes but at the end of the day, a customer comes to your restaurant expecting to be serviced, and of course EAT/DRINK!!!
I usually eat from the one in Park Heights, and that's where I'll stay! Today, was the first time I visited the one in Canton, and it will be the last! This is the driest curry chicken I've ever had in my life! Very DISAPPOINTED. $21 wasted, smdh.
I was invited to a lunch this was my 1st time here, service was amazing! Our waitress was adorable and she worked so hard it was a lot of us. She had someone helping her it was his 1st day he was great as well...now the food, I got the brown stewed chicken and white rice, it was good I wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese not good at all and dry. I wasn't a fan of the rice and peas either I tasted my husband's. I ordered rum punch that was delicious! And Judy herself came to say hi which was very nice of her because she was extremely busy. All in all great experience I liked it just not the mac and cheese lol I wld def come back for drinks.

Finally tried this spot on Thursday 2/20. It wasn’t busy at all only had a few people. It was so cold in there but I managed to get past it. I ordered the Judy rum punch. It was OK, but I’m not a fan of premade drinks. I had two drinks however the second one I did not finish because I believe the mix was making my stomach hurt. I will definitely try something else the next time. I ordered the jerk quesadillas, spicy beef and ceasar salad all was really good. I even had enough for lunch the next day. I will be back in the future.

My first time here, the place is beautiful and relaxed atmosphere.
I ordered Oxtails and Curry Chicken dinner for 30.00 the ox tails had extremely too much salt, and the curry chicken was a bit dry with a little adjustment im sure I would revisit and give 5stars.
