I’m not sure why, but I had pretty high expectations that this was going to be an above average Chinese restaurant experience. The food is nothing to complain about, but nothing to brag about either. The service was also just OK. What bothered me the most was that our food came out slowly and one random plate at a time, so the people at the table were not eating together - which is a dealbreaker for me. If I’m going with a group to a restaurant that has table service, our food should come out by courses with everyone’s dishes together. The haphazard and distracting service significantly undermined our meal and time spent together.

The food is flavorful and the service is good but the entree was too salty. If you don’t like heavy salt be sure to ask for less. The chicken felt a bit over marinated and the rice a tad on the dry side but that’s nit picking. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and will go back. A lot of potential and a great spot.

Portion size is small. Lot of premade food.

Uncomfortable with the level of “upscale-ness” too much. Other than that, great!

This is one of my favorite Szechuan places in the city- and it's right down the street from my house! I love getting small plates-favorites are the soup dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, pickles, basil eggplant, and salt and pepper shrimp (surprisingly not that salty and fried to literal perfection -crispy outside, succulent inside)
It's great to go as a couple (if you can restrain yourself/count on leftovers) or as a big group (to get ALL THE THINGS!). Whatever you do, get there fast!

The positive: I enjoyed the braised pork, however it needed more seasoning- everything did, except for the dan dan noodles, which were overly salty.
The basil eggplant and bok choy just needed more seasoning and it would have been a pretty great meal. I’d give a 3.5. Service was nice!

Very nice atmosphere and the food is delicious. Great value for the portions and taste. It’s a casual and comfortable place to come with friends or a significant other.

I ate here during the soft opening and the entire experience was a disaster. I returned today and it was like night and day. The food was served promptly. Our request for silverware was not ignored. The soup was served in a bowl and not a tea cup. Best of all. Everything tasted great. Special mention has to be made of our server, Kyrstin. She was friendly, informative, prompt and professional. I will definitely be coming here more often now that the restaurant has gotten its act together.

The service was awesome. Very good food. Vibes could be better. Just felt empty. But really excited to have them in the neighborhood and hope to see them get lots of business. Great food great service.

I read the reviews of this restaurant before going to lunch with a friend today and discovered that the servers are young and careless because our water was finished and they were merely chatting among themselves. Check on us once. We even ask the host to let us check out.
After a while, our server still arrived.
I appreciate the effort that servers do, however they were merely chatting.
If you wish to operate your restaurant, I advise the management to hire responsible staff.
The food was decent.

We were skeptical because of the lower reviews, but this place did not disappoint. Everything we had was great. We tried a bunch of dishes and Every single one of them was impressive. We had red oil dumplings, pork soup dumplings, pork buns, Combo fried rice, and chonquing chicken. All bangers. Our server was great and attentive. We will be back

I was forced to tip to a certain amount asked by the waiter with an attitude. Food was good but the serving kinda ruined it.

I have been to the one in Rockville I am actually thinking they are doing great job at this location near John hopkins the price was good for the portion. We were surprised with the portion of appetizers. All the food was great quality and quantity. Some of the tastes were a little bit too sweet in my opinion, but good value. The salt and pepper pork rib and sticky rice desserts were my recommendations.
