After visiting the Bethesda location I was excited to hear a nicer sichuan restaurant was opening in Charlie's Village. We brought a big group and we're not disappointed. Yes I'm sure some of the Chinese Americans who visit say it isn't 100% authentic, duh! But it's better than most of what you can find in the area. Also, I never trust reviews from takeout customers.
Was hesitant to dine here after reading some of the negative reviews. Still decided to give it a try for the sake of convenience. To my surprise, the food, the service and the vibe of this place is pretty nice. The dishes I ordered have decent tastes and I enjoyed them: Chengdu Stir-Fried Pork, Hot Pot-Style Spicy Mixed Vegetable & Meats. Will definitely return.
I’m not sure why, but I had pretty high expectations that this was going to be an above average Chinese restaurant experience. The food is nothing to complain about, but nothing to brag about either. The service was also just OK. What bothered me the most was that our food came out slowly and one random plate at a time, so the people at the table were not eating together - which is a dealbreaker for me.
